ps1: sorry for being fashionably late as usual. that's icecoolT for you. been really bogged down with work, etc lately. anyway, i am IN, have always been, regardless of anything you guys may want to think. lol. i suggest somewhere, anywhere, where the road to the place is less busy and possibly some nice long clear roads so that we can assess how our group rides together on such trips, as there are a couple of new faces to the group coming along. its for general safety and references for our future trips. as for those who never join us yet, don fret, we are pretty decent slow riders, unless its a long straight eg, heading home from Gelang Patah that stretch *devil*. oh yea, most probably we still can squeeze in 1 or 2 more Carls Jr/KKFC meet up before this trip and usual part 2 to Yishun dam, so come along and break the ice. cheers all...

 

ps2: WAGs allowed?? just asking. pretty sure she wont be happy if i dont bring her along BUT but deep inside i tink i prefer to go solo on this trip. oh well,...

I think most of us are ok with anywhere as long as the leader(Dinie) is sure of bringing us to and back in one piece... hehehe...

 

As for time, I think we should have it at night and not in the morning or afternoon... if Dinie you want, I can accompany you to recce the route on Sat morning on the day itself. I am going in JB every sat morning anyway

Haiz....sometimes dun feel like answering these questions. Hmmm maybe I should open a motorcycle shop, then can answer these questions truthfully. Its not like everyday we buy motorcycles hahhaha

 

Please do your homework. Visit one shop, the price range will almost be the same in other shops. OTR maybe cheap, how about interest? I buy and you buy will be different coz of other factors like insurance, and how well u know the shop owner. Its not like I wan to shoo you off, juz dat these questions comes in time and time again and it is very difficult for us (the regular forumers) to answer, unless I do own a shop and sell bikes.

 

FC for 600cc...same as other 600cc. I would say it depends on your riding style.

Ha ... Look like I'm another one same like you ... kena con by bike shop... mine exactly like yours.... No brand "lousy steel" rack. So far it is still holding strong with my overloaded weekend box from my shopping at Mlysia Giant ... hehe

Oh advise to new riders joining the trip

1) DIE DIE WEAR BOOTS!! Army boots also can. Make sure u tie them up properly. No F'ing sandals or slippers. Learnt it the hard way...

2) If u have riding jacket, WEAR IT. Dun have wear THICK SWEATER and T shirt inside tuck in properly.

3) JEANS a must. THICK STRONG MANLY JEANS!!! Riding pants lagi better.

If u turn up with bermuda's. Hi chance u kena leave behind by DINIE at meetup point...

4) GLOVES is good to have. Dun waste money on half finger F4CK gloves.

5) Keep your distance and always keep a look out. (Read up on HOV: Hazzard Oriented Vision)

6) Most important advise:If u wanna be a hero and do stupid stuff while riding in a pack. Immediately break off from the pack and find a hard center devider or maybe a 50+ years old tree and go head on. Full throttle works best. U dun want to end up a veggy.

U may also consider this so called "aunty" place. Its opposite 219 if i am not wrong. A friend did his super4 there. About $40-45 with design. But that is SUPER4. They have lots of ready made ones. For our bikes. Be prepared to wait abt 1hr or so depending on how bz they are. Actually lotsa shops around jalan besar heading to ah boy do seats. Go around and ask around.

 

Last i did was at Eugene Saddlery. Plus extra cushion to fit my butt for comfort long road trips. Cost me $80 for a the cloth and workmanship.

ahem ahem.. actually yea lar its true. don't ever wear anything other than minimum trousers for longer trips. unless you got carbon fibre plated skin, which im sure, NONE of you have. lol..

yup, but not all.

 

if you're talking about the exterior parts like covers, tank, seats etc, you can use the parts meant for the 600. as for the exhaust, you can too but it wont be legal.

 

and dont try to trick the ROV guys into believing yours is a 600 cos they've did their homework. not worth paying the fines.
