just an estimate, if some1 import gsr400 from japan.

it is on sale in japan on 31/may/2006.

place an order, 30 working days or 1 month for delivery.

send for LTA aproval, subjected to passing all LTA inspections.

probably takes 1 month or 3 months the longest.

so if u ask me, there is about least 2~4 months wait b4 it is on sillypore road.

maybe u see it in aug~oct 2006.

Or get the upcoming 2007 Honda Hornet 600. From pic, looks more refined than GSR, but also under 100 bhp. Looks like seat height is even lower than GSR. Good for shorties, but perhaps a tad less sporty compared to GSR6. If can't get GSR4, then go for ur Class 2 and get GSR6 ... cool bike! :thumb:

the problem with bringing in GSR400 is becos it is a jap bike. The japs will not export it here if is a small order. Currently, the authorsied dealer and the big boys are not willing to take the risk.

anyway, i miss wildcard.

Actually I have a few weird vibes about the bike. Dunno if any of you guys felt the same on the 600.

1. If you rev pretty high in the first few gears and immediately clutch in, you would hear and feel a delayed "clunk", as if the clutch slipped in later. Pretty weird and unerving as when changing gears and accelerating quickly, the bike will lurch a bit when the same thing happens. Heard rumours this bike is equipped with a slipper clutch. But I highly doubt so...

2. Think the front headlight / instrumentation panel vibrates easily. Think I have to spend some time dismantling the front and retightening.

3. The left side exhaust cover paint is peeling and bubbling on the inner side. Think the heat to too strong. Dunno if can replace under warranty.

Honestly speaking, i didn't encounter any paint off. maybe i didn't notice it.

Hi All,

Last night, I experienced one of the most close-up accidents while on my GSR.

It all happened at about 1140pm, Ngee Ann Poly.

I was fetching my girlfriend home from Holland Village after supper. On the way back, I saw this White Honda Integra tailgate a WRX all the way from pandan valley to Maju camp area. As my normal riding speed is about 80-90km/h on that stretch of road, i followed the 2 cars as the it was moderated traffic. This means that the average car speed is about 60km/h.

The Integra still tailgate the WRX on the extreme right lane. Trying to seize an opportunity to overtake the WRX, the integra made a rapid left to the centre lane, but lost control on the steer. While he tried to counter steer, he skidded to the extreme left lane with the front headlight facing the centre divider. At that moment, the car dashed into the centre divider (fence) and the whole car flipped upside down over to the other side of the road heading towards Clementi.

I saw the whole front windscreen smashed into pieces.

The Wrx stopped on the side and hurried out to see what he can do. I slowed down and stopped in front of the bridge heading towards hillview. I hesitated to help as my gf is crying and was in a shock to see such a thing happen. I moved on back to my gf house.

I hope that the driver and passengers are okay. I will see if there's any noticeboard for eye witnesses later when i pass by.

Pray that they are ok.

I just don't understand 'coz there're so many more 2A riders out there compared to 2 (though GSR4 is not much cheaper than GSR6), motor shops & Suzuki agent should earn much more from selling GSR4 than GSR6 right? Why only bring is GSR6 where only so few class 2 riders can buy?

Coz perhaps they dun want to gamble on it.

S4 is a long proven bike since PB1. Simple, reliable, not frills.

Most of the owners are old-timers and riders of advanced age (no offence to fellow SBF S4 riders who are young).

The GSR is a new baby. Very stylish design and using latest technology. Too stylish and too high-tech, perhaps, for the majority users.

I mean, to the average Uncle Joe who uses it 8-5 from home to work and occasional transportation of goods and services the bike only when its needed, do you think a state-of-the-art EFI 600-K4 engine relying on full electronics will go down well with them?

I have no doubt, to the newer generation of riders, the GSR will, without any doubt, topple S4 as king of the 400s.

But rite now, is there a big enuff interest in it?

I mean, look at the 600. Initial limited stock release sold out the bike at every shop I know. Now, new batch brought in but I've only seen Mokette's and Jerry's GSR.

True. Even with all the great reviews of the GSR6 and the astonishing specs of the GSR4, I've still heard lots of bikers preferring their reliable S4. Mayb next year, when the GSR6 has shown the 2A riders how superb a bike it is, plus a general reduction of price for the GSR4 (to match the S4), then perhaps there'll be more takers.

Meanwhile, bet all the GSR6 riders must be feelin "special" yeah 'coz ur d proud owners of a limited rare breed in SG. :thumb:

Rare breed is a double-edged sword, if you ask me.

On the good side is, you get a lot of attention on the road. Coz simply there is nothing like it on the road yet. A 600cc bike that sounds like a litre-bike screaming yet in the compact frame of a 400cc.

On the other hand, I'm all alone in trying to get technical advice or sorting technical issues right now.

Pretty much wat I faced when I rode my TL1000R, another rare breed Jap bike.

for GSR600 (euro bike) local bike shops can collaborate and bring in a few. For GSR 400 (jap bike ) I heard they need to order in 50s or even 100s before the Japs would export to Spore.

anyway, i miss wildcard.
