hey guys. i've been getting roughly 19-20km/l on my gsr400. is this an expected amount, just to compare with what you guys usually get? usually im at gear 5 from 90-105km/h most of the time during expressway travel.

Correct me if I'm wrong but why don't you try going to gear 6? Perhaps the higher rpm is consuming more petrol? Anyway, 19-20km/l is quite alright, I'm getting 22km/l on V-power at speeds of up to 108km/h (My speedo have an inherent error of -8%).

Few tips on saving petrol while on the move, don't over-rev the engine, do not suddenly accelerate/decelerate, constant speed is best, stay within speed limit (perhaps to a range of +/-10km/h?), don't do sudden braking. Hmm, just my thoughts, correct me if I'm wrong on that.

i prefer the carbon fiber ones as my bike got carbon parts already but i need ones that are legal too bro. the route i use to go work is littered with LTA as they like to camp out to catch those over-loaded sand trucks. imagine if i were to speed along (as i'm frequently late for work) and the LV are singing loud..

Why don't just CF wrap the Aluminium LV cans? If I'm not wrong, pipes that are legal for 600 will not be legal for 400 even though they may be of the same fitting.

Hey yaz, hope you are alright too. Consider Planet motors, at 3007 Ubi road 1, like few of our GSReans mentioned that they do a good job on repairs and in my case, claiming of insurance. I will be heading down there in like 1 hour time to do assessment of damage, repairs and claims.

OEM Suzuki 400/600 parts are avaliable at Loois and Guan Hoe (Authorized dealer for Suzuki) (although they deal only in 600 but they do have parts that fits 400). Might consider doing your repairs at Loois too.

Do standby all your information you got regarding the accident as you may not know if the other party changes mind and decided to do a **** and bull story and claim your insurance.

I think it is better for you to make an IDACS report 1st since they mentioned that they do have a form for settlement between the involved parties.

Just went over to Planet motors, the uncle (Ah Chong, I think?) said it might be tad bit difficult to claim due to the lack of any injuries sustain and it will lead to questions being asked by the officer from the insurance company.

However, he mentioned that I MUST NOT agree to any settlement offered or demanded by the insurance company of the other party and immediately inform him, should any lawyer's letter or call reach me.

So now my beloved is with him for bout few days so he could assess the damage, do up the necessary repairs and claims. Talk about infidelity!

Oh well, back to public transport then (I really need to re-learn how to use the new ez-link card, other than putting it inside the IU. Oh, the squeezing, the sleeping and snoring, the noise makers and many other experience of the MRT. The circle line too...)

anybody here knows the cheapest of a new GSR400 ABS model here in singapore?? can anybody tell me the price and the location.. thx.. guys

OTR (On The Road) price wise, it really depends on your age, riding experience, NCD (No Claim Discount) (for insurance, provided you had an insurance policy with no record of claims with a specific insurance provider), COE, etc

Machine price wise, I was quoted 14.5k for the ABS model at Loois motors at Kaki bukit but that was a year ago, perhaps the price increase? You can check other motorshops like Republic motors.

Why don't you check out 2nd hand options? There is a forumer who wishes to sell his GSR400 here. Also while at Planet motors, I saw a White/black GSR on sale.

Thanks bros. Before I checked the thread in the afternoon just now, I was rounding Tampines Industrial Park looking for Planet Motors cos one of my friends said it was there. After 5 rounds, I realised my stupidity. Thanks to bro Lexanez for putting the address here. HAHAHA. :cheeky:

And yes bro EJ, I'm now very convinced that that stretch is damn dangerous . Don't think I'll be going down that route much now. Gives me a shiver everytime I pass by that accident spot.

Lastly, I think the Planet Motors uncle is hilarious. A highly recommended workshop indeed. Ride safe bros! Hope to meet you guys in the near future.

Hey guys, I've just met an accident whereby a taxi cut into my lane and cause me to hit on the right of his rear end with my left signal light cover.

Damage wise, a broken left signal light cover, scratches on my left slider, damaged left scoop of the radiator and paintwork on the frame.

This happened at about 12.25pm today along PIE (Tuas) before Steven Road exit on the rightmost lane.

A witness have also supported my claim in that the taxi, in trying to overtake me, cut into my lane and caused the accident. I also have his contact number and details.

I have already made an IDACS report and proceeded down to Unique at Toh Guan to assess damage and claim against the other party, however, what was told to me by the guy in charge was that I am on the losing end of this bargain and advise me on doing "direct claiming". Is it even possible?

Any advice on how should I go about making claim against the taxi driver?

I apologize for putting my problem forward to bother you guys but I really do not have any ideas other than what was told to me and also this is my 1st accident ever.

damn, that sucks. hope your claim against the taxi goes well! Witness statement is key in this case I suppose.

The blue led is nice !!!!!!!

thanks. waiting to see how pink will turn out, if there are any takers in the future! bringing in from the UK. it may be the next hottest thing. :D

my wife couldnt agree more..

thanks orlen! now i'm paying more attention to the speedo..

glad you and your wife are enjoying the new lighting!

easier to pick out the numbers on a blue background at night aye?

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

No DIY la zee..

I calculated, need to buy fine tip soldering iron, flux, solder, sucker, the LEDs, the time and especially the patience is much much more than what Orlen quoted me for the price..

So i surrendered my meter to him last sunday, went for prata and came an hour later. Now its glowing! Hehe as for pricing wise, i leave it to Orlen to inform u guys himself..

rien d'autre que le max.

I especially like the blue glow underneath the needle.. My wife warns me to watch the road, not the meter.. Hehe

Yeah, I last checked Loois is trying to bring in the newest model for GSR4. I got mine from them though.

Gotta love the blue LEDs huh? Kinda missing it since now my bike is at the workshop. My gf was practically tired of me going on and on bout the blue lights, oh well!

What bout running lights inside the signals? Interested in that too. =)

Anyway, all I can do is to wait til Ah chong give me a call and tell me that everything is all fine (I hope).

Thanks for the kind words and description in your above post too. Pleased that the experience and end results are good!

Haha, your wife is spot on! was intending to let you know the meters may be abit distracting. I kena horn at traffic light during my first night out with mine, failed to move.

That blue glow is neat, it's like it's there, but not there, think i'll change my speedo to blue while leaving my screens white, for the blue glow.

No worries, I'm Tony. And thanks for the idea on the extra running lights inside the signal lights :D. Think I may try that out on mine. Always wanted running lights like the S4.

hey bro, thanx alot for the blue lights on the meter..ride during the night jus now to test the glowing of the meter..DAMN NICE!! very satisfied liao..anyway,nice meeting u..quite a good chat with had just now..hehehe..can u pm me the link for the gsr manual..thanx
