Lately, the idling speed of my GSR400 becomes very inconsistent, rpm needle fluctuating when bike is not moving. Tried increasing the engine idling speed but it doesnt help. Anyone knws what could be the cause of this?

How low is your idiling? The manufacture's setting is between 1.1 to 1.3. Setting it too low might cause this.

Other factors maybe Spark Plugs, Clutch free play too near, or maybe bad engine oil???

Mine is set to 1.2k. But the only prob is the idling is not consistent at all. The engine sound when idling is alternating between heavy and light. Will a faulty spark plugs cause this as well? Have check, cant be the clutch free play issue.

No harm changing to new spark plugs as each plugs dun cost that much. Best to change all.

Speaking of which, EJ, I really would like to know where did you get your belly pan from?

Was thinking of getting the Ermax one but seems like the one piece belly pan that you have is really cool.

its from motoworld. didnt remember how much it cost though..

rien d'autre que le max.

is your bike on side stand? try looking at it when your bike is upright. the level should increase..

but on another note, its not really that of a big deal.. it's just an expansion bottle for boiled over coolant to escape.. if you don't feel good about letting it be low or empty (like mine), top it up with distilled water (NOT tap water)

cheers and Happy national day to all

Interesting, really, I would like to get the PDF version of the GSR6 Manual. Might I go down someday then. Thanks for sharing.

Reminds me, yesterday while I'm heading towards the east on PIE nearing Eng Neo exit, I saw a blue GSR, FBD plate with a pillion and the dude exited on Steven exit, might it be any of the bros here?

I believed the LV pipes is sucking Rex outta of his money, think the FC is horrible. Fuel like water! Hey Rex, lets head to north for a short trip for makan and pump?

Sure Why Not!! haha maybe 28 & 29 of august can plan a trip up north and stay 2 d 1 n leh go nearby lor haha (malacca??), interested?

if the air which exits from the exhaust is not consistent, does it mean the spark plugs are faulty?

u noe, like instead of the constant speed tapping of air, u get inconsistent speed.

You can feel the air going out is all over the place instead of at one spot. It may mean faulty sparks or the system itself. Y change spark plugs iz because its the cheapest to change. Then see if the problem still persist.

Sure thing Rex, I'll would very much like to head out on a trip north. Just confirm attendance and places to go again?

Ah, well Suzuki parts for GSR from UK are really too expensive already. I rather go for other options such as Ermax, Powerbronze and such.

Darn! Recently my voltage kept on dropping to 12V+ when the RR is freaking hot! Just checked the connectors of the RR with a Multimeter and realize that they all don't tally with what is stated on the manual. Gotta source for 1 then...anybody with an extra RR?

Hey guys Could Anyone tell me If my Braking system is currently using ABS am i able to change my hose to the steel braided ones????

You can still change it into steel braided hose. BUT, you will need a very deep pocket. If i am not wrong there are 15 hoses to change, you do the maths.

I enquired on my GSR before. I almost fainted :cheeky:
