well maybe u can put 1L of the 530RR and 2.2L of maxima ultra/motul 300v.. anybody mixed EO before? jus wondering..

dude.

EO is not like making drinks.

different EOs are optimized for different conditions, riding styles, engines etc.

mixing rose syrup and milk will give you bandung.

mixing 5w30 oil and 20w50 oil will give your engine problems.

mods done:

powerplant device, fuel injector venturis,

underseat cylindrical air filter, bassy stock cans,

super-sensitive in-built gyroscope, inertia-based accelerometer,

streamlined panniers (zero drag),

taped up wires, exposed grounding wires,

TBC mounted, custom tire pressures.

litre bikes watch out! :gun:

Guys, just wanna check with ya all, have any of u xperience any soft and minor 'rattling' sound coming from e right side of the engine? My mechanic told me its due to the mineral oil used during running in and the sound is cause by the 'tensioner'.. Any truth in this?

Posted

rattling normally comes from something loose.

check screws, IU cover & bracket, etc.

if it's caused by mineral oil, the sound will be all over and a new bike shouldn't

have a loose 'tensioner' anyway, or even timing chain for the matter.

unless your right ear is better than left one of course.

if it's a regular ticking sound, it's normal; comes from the denso injectors.

Sorry, bro.

Actually you can, as long as you know what you are doing.

I'm sometimes asked if it's ok to blend your own oils. Yes, it is. Oils are all made out of pretty much the same chemicals, and nothing really bad will happen. If I wanted to blend my own oil, I expect I would use something like 25% Motul 5100 10W-40 and 75% Chevron Delo 15w-40, which would get me both the advantages of a lot of diester stock (5100 is pure diester) and the diesel additive package. In the winter, however, I would use 25% Motul and 75% Rotella synthetic, to get the superior low temperature performance. In fact, I just run Rotella synthetic in everything I own, year round: ST1300, DL650, Superhawk, Chevy Silverado, motorhome.

Do read the link I've pasted above.

Was one of the first few references I've read that taught me a lot about oils and other black holes in motorcycling...

i used the wrong word.. its more like a ticking sound, but coming from the right side of the engine..definitely not any loose parts cos i checked every single surface area of my bike..

If your bike is new, and the ticking is loud at startup and softer a bit during normal riding but ever-present.....

Its ok.

Its only the Denso injectors.

Suzukis use Denso injectors for nearly all their EFI bikes and these are known to be particularly noisy.

So noisy, some mistook them for misaligned valves.

hi guys i am interested in gxr 400 is there 400 ?? or in sg there is only 600???

Never really heard of a GXR 400cc.... But i know of the old GSX-R 400cc, one of my favourite bikes and the new GSR 400cc. The GSR also have a bigger 600cc model which is the spawn of the B-King. Khehehehe... :thumb:

I mean, don't tell me brand new bikes with mileage under 10K will have valves already off so early?

I used to ride a TL1000R, Suzuki's famous big-bore V-twin supersports.

Baby ticks like a blardy time bomb.

When I first got her, a fren had a good look over and tells me my valves are off.

Yet I had sent her for a gearbox replacement and the mech told me the valves are within specs.

bro still depend on your riding style.. currently on yoshi and still manage to get 300++km for full tank.

Anybody care to help explain how changing the exhaust can help to get a more efficent mileage? Just curious....

Anyway, any west riders if planning to care for their bike, wash, clean etc, can ajak me along so that I can take note of the nitty gritty parts to clean or even learn the tips and tricks of caring for the bike? :cheeky:

Cheers man!

Dude, its more of the other way round actually. I'm expecting it to go down after installing and tuning. There is always a give and take in these things.

its not the battery that wld be the problem. it wld be ur headlight harness. if ur wires arent thick enuff, it'll heat up great enuff to melt and if the connector is loose and not greased, u'll see the H4 connector melting as well. so check after a long ride, whether the wires connected to the headlight and the connector are hot or not. if its not hot, then ur fine. if it is, then revert back to 60/55w pls.. or get HID.

cheers!

Heh!

If I could ever import one in, this might be worth a look:

http://www.goingfaster.com/angst/Bike_from_a_car_01.jpg

The Russian Palzy sportsbike.

A sportbike built with a tele-lever type front end and a car wheel / tire combo on the rear. Yes, that's a V8 engine with headers, taken from a heavy industrial truck. Some plastic to hide the engine and intake system on top and I might buy one as a conversation piece. Damn. I bet it's heavy as f**k and handles like the proverbial Russian bear.

Some sources say its built for less than USD$1000.

Erm, better switch back to a standard 60/55w bulb.

It will melt your plastic connector and possibly wiring harness faster than you can say "Electra".

Trust me, have seen it happen before.
