Hi i'm a newbie can i know where is the best place to get a classic vespa with 'A' plate and maybe, which is fully overhauled..? =]

from this forum itself..under used bikes in garage sales , yahoo auctions , from friends , friends' friends or from approaching riders/leaving notes on random vespas which you have an interest in buying..

as for workshops, ah joo at ubi and tong aik at golden wall centre are undoubtedly the 2 most popular places to get a vintage 'A' plate vespa.

all the best in your vespa hunt and do make sure you don't get ripped off..unless you don't mind getting ripped off of cos :cheeky:

:: hey dude~ highly advisable that you have a feel of a vespa before investing on a vintage beauty (unless you've had massive years of riding experience)... otherwise, hook up with a few mates who owns one and learn the tricks of riding a vespa... as for A platers, there's always someone out there sacrificing their ownership; go have a look at these few places; JIN CHENG MOTORS @ UBI, TONG AIK MOTORS @ GOLDEN WALL CENTRE & RODA DUA @ HORNE ROAD (i was at roda dua yesterday and there's a black AY plate classic-restored-PX up for sale for below 3k, all done-up with crashbars and done-up engine... go have a look...) ::

one very important thing when buying .. dun rush and most important is the internals not the outlook only

Hmm.. What is the most reasonable price for this classic 'A' plate vespa which is overhauled anyway..?

:: very, very subjective. it all depends on the model, the plate, the yr of manufacture; the older it is, the more original parts it has... the more valuable it is... e.g. AA, AB, AC, AG, AH, AJ, AK, AL, AM, AN, AP, AQ, AR, AT, AU, AV, AW, AX, AY, AZ.... this is roughly how the hierarchy is like~ an AM plate+bike can cost up tp 5-6k or so, whereas an AV plate can cost as low as 2k... ::

Hi people,I have some doubts.I tried finding for the answer on google, can't really get the answer i am looking for. Thus guess its best to ask those who rode this 2 scooters before. And thanks for enlighting me. :)

Currently i am riding a Vespa excel, which is 150cc.So recently thought of buying a px200.

Mine and the px200 both are FU plates.

BAsically i know the difference is the 50cc.

But other than that hows the difference in the performance and handling,is there a power difference for that 50cc extra, like increase in normal crusing speed?

Hope to get some feedback from those who have rode the px200 and excel also....thanks again:cheeky:
