Ah Khoo-ar..don't say auntie like that la..I think she read Straits Times la.

Ok, Boon Siew recommend 800km run in cos that is when you go in for 1st service.

The "bible" say.quote "RUNNING-IN : Help assures your motorcycle's future reliability and performance by paying extra attention to how you ride during the first 500km(300miles). During this period, avoid full-throttle starts and rapid accelerations" unquote. So, not I say one hor, bible say one.

I know it sounds short but I was told that most or all engines are given a preliminary run-in in the factory and we are only doing the final on the roads.

So go and cheong man...

All Must Work Hard!

for me, after 800km and first servicing, i still continue to go slow till 1000km before i go pass 100km/h.

there has been tonnes of discussion on running in S4 and from what i can summaries, for a reliable bike like honda, you dun really have to worry whether you clocked 800 or 1000 or even 2000km before you try your top speed...

cos so far, there has not been any S4 reported with engine problem due to improper run in...

Actually, NSHW is not a good idea. This is because you will be riding at a constant rpm for extended period which is not recommended for running in. If you do that(as I did) you must vary your speed/rpm and make constant stops. At the end of the day, depends on your comfort level, believes and patience la.

hehe u all ah.....but i dun blame u guys for being so fervent....which is not a bad thing....the most critical like wat uncle keiyong says is how u ride it for the 1st 500km and tat's why i let my hubby ride it 1st to ensure that everything sits in properly. he's always a honda man and so far so good w the 500km benchmark

so far only 1k plus hmm don't u ride it on a regular basis?

keiyong : totally agree w u with regards w the varying of speed, breaking in the breaks etc.

c'mon dudes...dun get so stressed over ur bike......u hv to enjoy it. e more u worry, the more problems seem to come along w it...it's just a physcological thing  S4 is a toughie and rarely has engine problems....my hubby used to hv a version S, then a Vtec 1....
