Oh guys

Forgot to mention one more thing which i think is very very important for all Revorians.

Ah Pek mentioned that when you plug in your key, the RPM meter needle will do a sweep of the screen.

after that when you press the ignition switch it SHOULD NOT sweep the screen a 2nd time.

If it does please know that the magnetic coil could be problematic and report it to Boon Siew ASAP.

To all Revorians please check out this fault replace it when you can. According to Ah Pek it usually occurs after 6-8 months or more.

Shouldn't this situation is batt not enough charge? It occurs once/twice and after riding it awhile, it dun occur anymore throughout the day.

Haven change out the batt yet to confirm whether is it batt problem thou.

So far not an issue to me yet.

Hi all,

My revo, since 6mths old also have this problem of double sweep sometimes, also spoke to Ah Pek for his great advice.

In additional, I also have a HISS problem which I know some of the revo also have. The HISS sometimes doesn't goes off and cannot start.

I have bring to Boon Siew for both problem during my servicing, they say no problem.. Can't reproduce the problems at Boon Siew.

Even wrote them a email about the HISS problem quite sometime back and ask them if they can help me, but nobody reply to me.

I think if most of the REVO got such problem, maybe we will raise a petition to Boon Siew or even Honda(Japan) if we don't get any help from contacting Boon Siew.

Thanks.

If cannot start, open the throttle slightly while igniting the bike again.

I only experienced the problem on my 1st batch Revo yrs back in 2008.

Hi Sparkers,

Thanks for the advice, but my problem is that the HISS is detected as no valid key.

No matter how i throttle also cannot start. Only solution is to start the bike while the meter is sweeping halfway.

The battery placed in Revo is a good one suppose to last for 3 years and above. Ah Pek said the problem could be temporary remove using replace battery but the effect wont last.

Be sure to check again as our bikes filled with sensors so could be one factor as well.

There will be damage to start abruptly, the HISS problem which i have asked before is the key set. The key slot 'teeths' are not connected properly. Replace it and it will be fine. The HISS will go away.

Hey guys,

Yesterday I went to chong aik to check out the renthal handlebars. The model they recommend me is

773 which is a LOW bend and very very wide out. Did any of you guys change your handlebars? Can tell me the model and maybe a picture would be good too? 773 abit to long though~

I have seen a number of S4 bikes on the road with wide/fat bars and I always wonder why they do it... IMhO it is unsuitable for street rides as they are way too wide. Won't be able to squeeze between cars in traffic.

My 2008 bike is sweeping twice! First sweep: Turn key to "On" position. Second sweep: After bike engine is cranked to life.

I don't think it's a battery problem. Battery has sufficient charge to start the bike.

@GothRod - What you refer to as magnetic coil is also known as the alternator? Or are you referring to the starter motor?

How about re-programming the Keys? Might be error in your key's chip.

Those of u with agent Revos, r u affected by the following recall?

Recall for owners of CB400 for Rear Stop Switch Assembly

Recall for owners of CB400 . If your VIN number falls within the following numbers:

JH2NC429*8K010001 to JH2NC429*8K010070

JH2NC429*8M000001 to JH2NC429*8M000174

JH2NC429*9K100001 to JH2NC429*9K100053

Due to water penetrates into rear stop switch, leading to poor electricial contact and resulting in possibility of no stop lamp operation while braking by rear brake.

For the preventation or resolution of this problem, Honda will, at no cost to the owner, carry out the replacement of an improved type rear stop switch assembly.

Please contact Boon Siew Singapore to arrange for inspection and if necessary, replacement.

I called up Boon Siew service ctr and was told the recall was initiated quite some time back. I told them I bought my 2nd-hand Revo recently and that it's 2 yrs old liao. I was then told that I should be receiving a letter from Boon Siew to arrange for an appt for the above.

Anyone has sent ur Revo to Boon Siew for the above?

I also just bought a used Revo and I don't know if previous owner sent in the bike for replacement. I was planning to call Boon Siew but haven't had the time. Will be doing it soon.

My bike has this symptom too, albeit occasionally.

Send it back to the shop or Boon Siew to check.

I don't think it's a battery problem. Battery has sufficient charge to start the bike.

I went to Boon Siew today and asked them about the double sweep issue. Spoke to customer service guy and asked him to check with mechanic to let me know what the 2nd sweep means. Customer service guy came back with answer from mechanic: Battery getting weak.

So I went to the bike shop where I bought the bike from and got them to change the battery. With new battery in place, mechanic tested the charging system with multi-meter. Multi-meter indicate 14.3v which means that the alternator/magnet coil is charging. This also indicates that the rectifier is also working properly.

However, even with the new battery, the needles still sweep a 2nd time on ignition! Shop mechanic says ride it for a few days to see if problem still persists.

Will update in a few days.
