I would say no.... unless a good offer comes along. Interest recently went up especially Japanese bike.

my interest was 2.8% 5 months back now is 4.2% even for new bike.

Be sure to check the various bike shop for interest.

U change a new bike unless u planned to ride long, i guess.

Guys, do remember that the low interest rates that you've seen over the past 2 years is a rare occurrence due to the Great Recession. If you're hoping for rates to go down to those levels again, be prepared to wait another 50 years or so. If anything, interest rates will be going up again soon as world economies get stronger.

@richard125 I guess the best time to buy will be when your budget says you can.

I don't think the cause of the needles sweeping on ignition is due your starting the bike the way you do. In any case, why would you want to start the bike while the needles are sweeping half way? It's only another 2 seconds!

This is the time the bike systems "wake up" and do it's diagnostics as well. If you put your ear to the tank before turning the key to "On", you will hear the fuel pump priming itself as the needles are doing the first sweep. So, starting the bike while the pump is half ready is not advisable.

Do let the diagnostics complete and the yellow (PGM-FI) light go off before starting the bike.

As for the potential cause the needles sweep on ignition, do read my post above. BTW, I'm not suggesting that the needles sweeping on ignition is definitely an indication of a faulty alternator. I am only sharing my own experience.

Actually it should because of the flooding in Thailand as well, cos the effect quite big even for Cars.

News reported that the entire market for cars is what the shop has. Takes about a month or 2 to recover the factorys' function.

Still there will be motor shops giving good deal, check with De Xing as they are still the cheapest for brand new and 2nd hand.

RamSnake is correct, let the bike warm up properly and the system to settle down first. Rush for what?

U are going to kill the system in the long run. Dun forget we have so many sensors inside. A wrong reading will stall the bike eventually.

Its like waking the bike from a slump, its push to kill.

Wonderful product! :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Used it on my clutch and brake levers and the pillion grab handle. Super shiny! :)

It's been raining so often these days I haven't had a chance to clean my wheels yet. Can't wait...

BTW, I'm very impressed with Muc-off bike cleaner as well. Spray on, brush lightly with paint brush and spray off with water. I removed 3 years' worth of road grime and dust from my bike with it :thumb:

See what u taking.... range about 250 -280 should not be more than for standard.

Unless you are going for super good ones or normal DID chains should suffice

Hi.. Newbie here. Just got my revo yesterday. Been riding small roads and also express. Bike seems to be extremely hot and I cannot bear to grip the oil tank with legs. I heard bike needs to run fast to cool off. I ran on express at 80-90 but it's still very hot. How fast i need to ride to cool bike? Will heat damage the new bike? Do I need to add special coolant?

Posted

Guys. I noe some of u are experiencing needle swipes when pressing the start button.. I encounter it before and a battery replacement solves it. But now my speedometer needle did not swipe when i turn the key to on, only the rpm meter swipes. It will happen intermittently. Any bros here encounter this before?

Bike still new or 2nd hand? if new, its normal to be hot.

I riding low rpm at normal speed, nv encounter any exteme heat from the bike which i feel is normal. Unless there is traffic jams, the radiator fan will be on and u will feel the heat from the bike.

EFI bikes will run slightly hotter so its normal.

If the heat problem is affecting u, i can recommend u to change the coolant to Engine ICE @ unique motorsports @ kaki bukit/ Toh Guan.

Thanks Sparkers1.. It's new. I'll give it some more time.

How much is low rpm?

Mine runs at 5-6 even at 80kpm on highway.

Is that normal for new bike too?

Actually for $280, you can do a 520 conversion with Driven or AFAM sprockets + DID x-ring chain. Unique is still having their package deals.

Doing the 520 conversion will also give you better acceleration overall.

Given that pricing for the higher end products, I believe the mid end prices for a chain and sprocket set should be about $180-$200.

Edit: BTW, DID(American) and RK (Japanese) chains are considered good brands. Do note that even these brands (RK definitely, not dure about DID) produce "O-ring" chains. The later X-ring (then Y and Z ring) chain types are considered to be better than the O-rings in keeping the lubricant within the chain pins.

IMHO X-ring chains are good enough for our typical SG roads plus occasional touring into Malaysia. I'm now using a chain brand called SFR with stock steel sprockets. With proper maintenance, I don't see why it wouldn't last but I'm itching for a 520 conversion :p

Anyway, no complaints as the new set was FOC

5-6k RPM at 80km/h is about right. Unless the sprockets size have been changed, engine RPM should be the same for new or older bikes. This is of course provided the bikes (new or old) are not having any problems.

Traffic jams aside, I also don't really feel that the bike is running too hot.

ITS ACTUALLY range from $180 onwards to $280. Anything from $250 onwards is good enough unless you are playing pick up.

Now got GPR also. Driven mostly for scramblers.

I will be changing the chains soon haha

Battery change is only temporary for the sweeping. Coil is the still the outstanding problem. Read the post on top from mr Ram snake

You will get use to it. New bike some more give it some time to adjust and you havent run in yet so dun go and try 100 and above. Do that after run in.

Can flush radiator with the run in.

For now just sit back abit till your ass touches the seat divider.

Its not the coil just a connection problem for reading. Wire loose.

The coil is only for charging purposes.
