So sorry, you bought your Revo at 2nd Hand , is it equip with after market exhaust ? He he he

Me?? Or were you asking @tomdickharry?

Anyway, my 2nd hand bike had stock exhaust when I bought it. I'm still riding it with stock exhaust. Good enough for me to chase and overtake 4 blokes on superbikes in medium traffic on the NSHW...

BTW, why are you hunting for after market, may I know?

u oready suspected that is spark plug or cable problem right ?

previously i face similar issue, which is 1 of my spark plug burned. After changed for 3 mths later same issue again then verified that is ignition coil problem. u can chk with spray the water on the 4 extractor. Which one not boil means the plug burned.

Hey bros, i am riding a spec 3, on sunday i was riding to work along AYE and was tailgated by a car and increased my speed to about 140km/hr. Tried to open throttle abit more but the bike jus wouldn't respond and stayed at 140km/hr. changed lanes and slowed down and exit at buona vista road. stopped at traffic light then voltage dropped to about 10-11v on voltmeter (using analog meter).

While moving off bike did not respond immediately to throttle, like choking then slowly move off, while entering carpark drop to gear 1and when open throttle again bike stall. Turn off Bike and started again, did not start. Start again with slight throttlling, bike started, then voltage maintain at 10v. When to mech that afternoon, change rectifier (old one melted), no problem starting voltage 13++, no battery problems, move off but when reach traffic light bike voltage decrease and RPM below 1, mech already adjusted to 1.2 RPM.

one more thing i notice a continuos ticking sound when engine start and when on the go ticking sound like follow engine momentum. Tik..Tik..Tik..Tik. Could it be coil problem? Spark plug?Cam chain?

Also when slow down.. and open throttle again bike feels like a fat cow trying to run...

Also where can i buy stock spark plug cables? mine the previous owner change to NGK racing cable...

Ur views and opininons are much appreciated

Thanks for the help...

Thanks for following up, @W17. I also have been thinking about this. I wish that forum members who post to seek help, come back to update on the thread whether or not solutions suggested worked for them and if not, what is the solution. This way all of us can learn more.

So, @chainteef, what say you?

This question also goes to everyone else who had problems and asked for help here and solutions were suggested. Some feedback, please?

Hi all,

I have a problem with my revo, I have left for holiday for 7 days without starting it.

When i came back and try to start my bike, the bike crank at first but unable to start.

On second time, same issue happen. But third time, there is no cranking.

I left my bike in main stand.

What is wrong with it?

I push start the bike but will this harm the piston?

My first thought is that battery is flat and second thought is the piston is dry as i left in on main stand.

Can anyone enlighten me on this.

For showa to jack up the suspension

I recommend David Ong (Teck Thye) 12 Braddell Road Singapore 359900

Tel: 62803138

I also recommend that you do a full service of the shocks rather than just adding spacers to increase the preload.

There is also another chap on FB who does shocks and forks servicing. However for shocks re-build/servicing, he uses compressed air to pressurise the air canisters (gold tube on the rear of shocks). This is not recommended practice. Nitrogen should be used instead. Using compressed air. the oxygen will oxidise the oil causing premature deterioration.

You can also try KnT and BikeLab, but I haven't heard feedback about these two shops. Search the forum for contacts.

Battery flat. Jump start the bike, it's ok.

If you have been using a good quality engine oil as all of us should, the pistons won't be affected.

At Bro Ramsnake, soory for the late reply jus got back my bike 2 days ago, this what happened:

Brought i to a mech, serviced my carbs, changed my rectifier and serviced engine (engine flush, EO, Oil Filter, Iridium Spark plugs, oil filter), the mech mentioned that could be my loose timing chain or tensioner causing the sound. During this period the mech noticed that my airbox had oil and spark plugs were oily and he suspected that the valves were leaking.

He was not able to do any repairs as his recommended bike shop did not have the time.

Brought to another mech, said he would "check" the engine and let me know the problem, he changed the timing chain and tensioner but sound still around. Did some valve adjustments and 7 Shims replaced. Still sound present after 7 days of being left at bike shop.

At this point I was really frustrated and jus paid the mech for unncessary replacements which were not required and which did not address the main problem.

I enquired at another mech (this is already the third) he mentioned that it my be my piston and there might be something stuck inside or cylinder head.

So at the end of the day problem still persists (voltage dropping when throttle... then got chugging like response the suddenly RPM jumps to 4-5) , ticking sound still remains, i dunno which motor tiam to bring to.

Please advise as I am still riding the bike in the present condition.... also if possible please P.M. me of any good bike shops have relevant experience with CB 400 Spec 3

if paying cash ?

I didn't ask. I guess it depends on your negotiation skills.

Thanks for your update. Already replied your PM with regards to bike shop.

1) When the 2nd mech did the valve clearance, did he do a compression test on your engine? If you're not sure, do call him to ask them to confirm because this is something you need to know when talking to my mech.

2) Has any mech check your magnet coil? When last replaced? Also need to know since you have changed the rectifier and is still having voltage fluctuation issues.
