But to be a good rider, you have to change with your environment, and adjust yourself to its rhythm.

go for rc/ sp/ remedial lessonsssss b4 tp if u need further calm ur mind.

ish confirm can wan, juz whether u r mentally prepared. i recall failing my 1st 2a coz too sleepy, literally slept through plank and of course, came down and failed. :dozed: zZZZZ

u r very lucky u din skid into the bus' path. very lucky ur pillion did not have grave injuries. very lucky ur bike still can ride after some servicing.

riding in the rain is painful but im sure not as painful as bak kwa, nor looking at ur brother's injury that u caused.

i'll say these days the weather actually very predictable, frequently rain heavily ard 3-5pm. so shd bring pillion raincoat anyway. and if really only 1 set of raincoat, give it to ur pillion, be a man and brave through the rain safely, for YOUR mistake. hopefully the rain splattering onto ur skin will jolt u to rmbr to bring an extra set for ur pillion next time.

it's dangerous to travel at that speeds in that area coz sometimes u cannot see

1) sand

2) mud

3) pot holes (when raining)

4) a lot of bangla workers jaywalking

5) many big trucks thus much more blindspots

Im sorry if i sound too harsh, but as i read through ur post i really felt those were unnecessary risk that u subjected urself and more importantly, ur bro, to..

I've ever ridden through thunderstorms w/o raincoat b4, very cold, but absolutely no reason to speed. Im saying these as images of fallen riders come into mind.. Be responsible to ur pillions and at least try not to ruin their lives.

Nah, it's my fault in the first place, so don't be sorry for being harsh :thumb:

I rather I go hospital alone than bring someone along with me, in any case.

Feel bad for my bro, he got burned by the exhaust some time back, and now another patch of bruise on his legs :sian:

Hopefully people who view this thread do take note of these experiences , and learn from it. I posted it so I can share it with others, at the same time, a reminder of the mistake.

Im glad u r positive in that sense.

i haven't respray my bike after my 1st skid. remind me not to speed when road is wet, and not to use anything less than Made In Japan tires ( i stupidly dunno hard vs soft compound etc). No $ i rather take train.

Exciting riding experience Shunpo! :thumb:

But...please try to ride safer next time. Don't want you to be my first rider friend who see sky, see road, see sky, see road...then see nothing anymore. *touchwood!* :o

Yesterday The thunderstorm damn big...I travel 50+ at 70km/h road...take my time and leave a big gap between me and the vehicle infront, and when road really clear then I travel to speed limit. I find that while stationary, the rain hit me more pain...cus stationary nothing to do so will feel the pain. Traveling concentrate on road too much...rain hit me no feel.

Lazy wear rain pants...got my jeans all soaked! And my shoe is plastic material, rainwater collect in my shoe! Every traffic light I will point my feet upwards to pour the rainwater out. When finally park in mscp, Take off shoe pour the rest of water out! Now I wondering if slippers is really the best footwear for rainy weather.

What problem with your brake light? Careful man...:D

Come to think of it...I think my bike beginning to love me already. The right rear signal light is magically cured! Never show any problem already. haha

Rain Phantom use rear brake = Death!

i'll start by saying there are riding boots that are waterproof.

depends on budget.

else u may wanna look into a rain shoe that folds flat. only useful if u intend to wear rain pants. :cheeky: else rain will still seep through the top. but if u wear a rain pants on top, it'll be covered totally.

any bike diam will have, abt $20 max. wear ur shoe to choose size.

if really budget, use ntuc plastic bags wrap. :p

All the above are better than slippers/ crocs. coz crocs will just fly out if u get wat i mean..

yea. weather recently very bad. So afraid to ride sometimes.

Hmm, yesterday I and my bro went to Sungei Buloh walk walk see see. So around 4+pm, it was getting dark, so wanna beat the rain, and chiong as fast as possible back home.

Cos only I got raincoat, no pillion spare.

And of course, riding in the rain is painful =.= So I went pretty fast ( going around 70-80 at those industrial area with lots of heavy vehicles) .

While doing a left turn, it turned out a little wide, and the opposite lane had a bus incoming which follows very close to the lane divider. My first reaction is to use the footbrake and slow down so I can get back my angle. However, I fishtailed and skided.

And again, my brother suffered larger injury than me (but luckily, physical wounds)

I MUST REALLY START TO BE PATIENT..

few days ago, i rode in the rain..then i enter the sheltered carpark in ntu and viola! the surface was so slippery that once my wet tires had contact with the surface, immediately skidded and fell. not easy to bring up a 2a bike with the surface so slippery. got a ntu staff saw me but he looked and walked pass me and into his car. haiz. hard to get ppl tp help these daes.

ya! mscp also very slippery. it's this STUPID alternative paint they paint onto the concrete floor to make it presentable and semi waterproof (protect concrete) that makes it all so slippery!!!

renew road tax

ur insurance must cover at least until the date of road tax expiry date. i.e. road tax renew 6 months, ends on 20 Nov 2010, and ur insurance gum gum ends on 19 Nov 2010, u CANNOT renew road tax. [go extend insurance]

if due for inspection, u CANNOT renew road tax. [go inspection 1st]
