7.01... umm... well, you will get to do U-turn! U-turn is the most important in the subject! If you can do it quite zai, you should have no problem passing... :goodluck:

Biking is something that everyone can learn and enjoy! :goodluck:

if possible.. try to take the outer side when doing e u turn. will be easier as you will be able to make a wider turn cos u are further away from e kerb.

my 2 cents :)

Lane splitting means riding between 2 lanes. Yeap.. Can say so, something like riding on the dotted line. But riding between the 2 lanes not necessary have to mean riding on the dotted lines as well.

FYI, Vespas are no longer the perceived cheap transport as they used to be. They might be cheap due to their low maintenance simple engine setup... But think again.

The PX150 and PX200 I used to rode come with 2-strokes single cylinder engines. Their fuel consumption is about 25km/litre depending on your riding style, but to keep up with the fast paced mainstream traffic of today, you probably cannot get a good FC out of it. Because the Vespa has poor engine efficiency, low top speed, meaning you have to whack open the throttle more.

Not mentioning the not-really-cheap-2T you have to add to your Vespa also... Abit ex. I rode a Phantom and Wave after my Vespa, those are what I called cheap transport.

Again, if you are talking about the new 4-Stroker Vespas like the Granturismo, GT, LX models, they came with a heavy price tag. I remember when they were first introduced, they were like 11k machine price. Now is probably lower though, but still more expensive than an average 2B bike I guess.

Cheap? :cheeky:

oopsy daisy :cheeky: never thought that it could be so ex also o_O jeez luckily you gave this review here or I'll be crying out loud when I really try to get one in future..haha anyway I tried my neighbour's Honda Wave with racing gear changed(kick down is gear up), the bike is clutch free which made me(noob rider) feel weird about it and when I wanna go faster I got anxious when I remembered (I'm forgetful) that it has no clutch like Yamaha Spark or X1 then have to kick down also..so I just first time anyhow kick dunno kick up or down

then go up to so many gear i see on the dashboard like 4 or what I really kan cheong inside the carpark I faster rode back to him..the turning on the small wheels also stressed me out..haha its like back to riding my foldable bicycle at home with those mini tyres :faint:

anyway thanks tourer for the useful info :thumb:

Ps: guys out there don't try lane splitting often as some darn cars may change lane w/out signal and warning so you might just end up getting in a fix when you see one doing a turn abrubtly in front of you while you jam your breaks..riding on white dotted lines also prove slippery and may cause skidding(heard and tried so yea....)

get RXK :)

let me tempt u with some nice modded RXKs :)

haha

cheap and good.. theres on selling for $700 in garage.. super buy !!

its safer den vespa cos wheels are bigger, and uses front disc instead of vespa's drums which are famous for locking up wheels meaning u will lose control of the bike when ur wheel lock..

i also like vespas actually but decided to go for RXK.. never really regret to be honest..

Erm... Actually Vespas come with bigger wheels than RXK, bigger width that is, that means better contact surface. Nowadays, infact since quite some time ago, the Vespas come with hydraulic brakes (brake disc), like my PX200 about 4~5 years ago.

I believe the Vespa locking up wheels due to drum brakes is just a myth. But I admit Vespas are filmsy in handling though, and also due to its weird weight distribution for having its engine block behind at the rear wheel.

Hope you do not mind my difference in opinion. :)

hey man, nice bike. did you do the paintjob yourself?

i'm thinking of getting a TW and 'project' it, but abit wasteful cuz i'm going in the army.

but if i really project it, i think i wont bear to sell it away either haha.

and my heart tells me to get a TW or vintage Vespa, but my balls tell me to get a sports bike.. haha how sia.. :cheer:

no worries bro ! i love vespas too man !

i believe drum brake locking up is not a myth.. my rear does lock up as well.. drums.. its common.. but alot depends on weight distribution and type of tyre, too many factors :)

somehow i feel smaller wheels are less safe..

its just a type of feeling when u ride a bike i guess..

and vespas u have no where to use ur legs to "aid" in turning as well..

attached a pic for ur viewing pleasure bro !

dun drool please ! haha

dun rush bro.. NS is a bad time..

cos if u want to mod.. u need time to go source for parts, polish, fixing , etc..

well tell ur balls to wait till 2a :)

2b sports bike is a waste of money i feel.. dun flame me sports bike riders !

cos it can reach around 180km/h the max 200km/h only.. and its light, means its more dangerous going at such speeds...

wait till 2a den get a more "reasonable" and safer bike.. bigger wider tyres..:)

cheers!

yes TW is a good project bike.. but bear in mind.. the rear fat donut costs a bomb ! haha.. alot people want to project a bike.. but give up cos alot of time and effort is required.. its not a point A-B bike anymore.. and its also usually not the main transport..

vintage vespa.. wat u mean by vintage? 20 years, 30 years? 50 years?

price can range from a few thousand to tens of thousands.. u cannot rush when buying a vintage bike.. normally people wun go for a vintage as a first and only bike.. cos of wear and tear, repair (it might need to sit in the workshop for months) etc.. :)

but vespas below 20years old are a good choice for 1st bike.. have fun with the gear changing system attached :)

the wider the tyres the more ex.. try asking those class 2 bike riders.. tyres can cost up to $300 for one rear.. and thats not the most expensive type haha..

since going NS, first few months in BMT u wun get to use it much... so dun rush loh.. wait till posting den get ur bike..

Erm... Not so expensive lah.. :cheeky:

I got Michelin Power Race for ~$450 a pair for front and rear (~280 for rear if i'm not wrong). That is the top of the line tyres for Michelin track use. High end sports tyres like Michelin Pilot Power, Dunlop Qualifiers, Metzeler Sportec M3 cost around $380 to $420. These are for 120 front and 190 rear sizing.

Actually the width has sometimes got nothing to do with it. High-profile comfort tyres (4 of them) for cars cost barely a couple of hundreds only, that's about $50~$60 per tyre. The reason why most tyres for sportsbikes or bigger cc high performance bikes are more expensive is due to the technology and compound used in them.

Most performance motorcycle tyres are using compounds smilar to higher-end sports cars tyres like N7 and above, that's like the Yokohama Advan Neova, Bridgestone Potenza RE or even S series equivalent. They can cost about 2~300 per tyre also if I'm not wrong.

So if they were to make Power Race for RXK, it's probably gonna most alot more than your daily use model also. But my guess is they don't, the closest is probably BT39 or TT900.
