erm anyone got answers to my questions? i just changed my springs to YSS suspensions $75... and denso iridium spark plug $20... Motul V300 E.O $28... CF mirrors $45... DID o ring chain and 14/34 sprocket stock kit $120... playlife grips + balancer $30

next week going back to do up the following:

- front disc brake up size! - $80

- Convert rear to disc Brake - $180+

- Racing boy Sport Rims ($160)

- tyres change upsize! ($180) - battalax bt-090

total $500+

and also engine full set overhaul - $380

(RMKS: cux conrod problem and exhuast got backfire problem caused by the air intake... so might as well overhaul since just bought... unsure the condition of engine.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

any comments about the price?

whats is the max tyre size wave S can go? only 90/80 rear and 80/90 front max?

any bigger?

i also wanna ask what is the use of a racing CDI? cost like 80bucks...

and also... my odometer is showing 99999.99 all the way!!! how to solve this?

the mech say have to change the whole speedo unit which is abt $100-$200... anyone got working 2nd hand ones? or how to solve this?

pls advice thanks mates!!!

80/90 90/80 is the biggest. any bigger, rear tire will rub the drum brake support.

90/80 is already very heavy for wave.

The price u are getting are good except for the mirrors...

I too follow the chain guard pressure.

Drivers often ask me whether i'm crazy to pump so much then i point to the chain guard lol...

They never know that bike tyres need to be harder mah~ :cheeky:

Big is certainly a warning but small can be downright scary! Never underestimate the effectiveness of small.

Does BT090 comes in Kup tyre sizes??!! Getting bigger tyres also means you need wider rims.

Wave got tons of vibration, not uncommon to get blurr mirrors while on the move which is quite irritating at nite.

BTW, there is no such thing as more power and less fuel.

I assume racing CDI just removes of rev limiter.

Wave peak power is ard 3-4k rpm range.

IMO, drag high rev is useless for wave.

Stock mirrors are the best. the rest are crap unless u use rimoza? 200++ mirrors.

Bt090 smallest is 110..

110 tires requires a 3.5 inch rim.

wave widest rear sport rims ends @ 1.85 inch.

The 6 legged ones are f1.4 r1.6

The 8 legged ones are f1.6 r1.85

I believe 90/80 is the biggest wave can use withour issues.

I have seen spark run 110/60 rear... in vietnam.

Battlax will feel very planted in corners.

Sorry i cant help you out with the speedo, mine is brand new bike...

You can call them for price quote and stock availability b4 going down. then bargain lol...

BTW guys Motoworld have Great Singapore Sales, good time to get a full-face if u're not wear one.

Hmmm... maybe i sh change my front rim to 8-legs 1.6", so it matches my 3-legs 1.6" rear rim. Then I can put both 80/90 TT901A tyres! :cheeky:

hey anyone got the pics for the 8legged rims we can use? cuz i wan a rim which can convert to rear disc brake.. and they recommend me the 6legged racing boy rim... i dono the sizes...

and does the 6legged rim have bigger sizes? the 1.85 rear? cuz that rims really look nice haha

Posted

I think changing the rear drum to disc brake is an unnecessary modification. As I have yet to see a conversion that does the job better then the original drums. Wave so light liao, you will lock the rear if you jam the brake. Drum is enough to stop the rear for the wave.

Also about tyres... wave can only corner up to a certain angle before scrapping the stock footrest. But by then, you're quite low already, enough to clear most corners also. And dun underestimate cub's tyres dude. A well setup cub can hold a corner low and fast.

wow nice bike! with nice exhuast! i wan that exhuast too!!!

well as for bro blahh... i understand wad u mean la.. im just trying to make my wave more comfy in riding and safer too...

for the disc brake i believe it is a safety mod la... but from what u said... it really seems like useless or maybe even more dangerous... any more views on this? maybe i should just change a new drum brake rather than convert to disc rear?

as for cornering.. im not so into it now... but i'll change my rear sets to make the stock position higher... how much does a aftermarket rear set cost?

i will pillion my gf often so if i change to a aftermarket rear set then her pillion footpegs how? cuz i see some rear sets comes with full rider and pillion footpegs... which are too close together and makes it uncomfy for both..

and also for the aftermarket footset i see in bro square box picutre... like very high!!! liddat the rider legs have to bend alot like sport bike? wont it make riding the wave tiring? any comments?

Posted

what is the carb u all using? a guy in thailand introduce me to change my carb to a PE24 khlien carb... any suggestions? what is our stock carb ah?

and how much does hel brake line cost for our bike?

Mine is very high... but now i'm using stock.

aftermarket tend to be fragile. Mine left side broken off...

Rider only = $60+

+pillion = $90+

I feel high is better for me as i'm 1.8m tall. my leg can hug the seat/U-box.

Aftermarket footrest give confidence in riding but rear-brake = useless.

My current racing footrest is used as pillion footrest lol...

The exhaust can go funmasters get $4XX...

HEL brake line cost $60-$80...

IIRC, wave using 24mm carb. change to other 24mm = waste $$ (at most smoother(mentally))

our cc to small to feel the difference.

Mech @ bikeworkz ask me to change 26mm lol...
