Kev's: cannot la...too many keys liao...lol I try with the rubber thingy first n see how...maybe got time i go and rewire my bike...dunnoe how difficult... abit reluctant...

nono, i mean, change the things that need/require to use yr keys.

i.e. Fuel cap, handle bar lock & ignition.

if you have time that is.

fuel cap is plug & play, for the handle bar lock, hv to tk out the forks & steering stem to change.

if possible, just replace the key pin sleeves, meaning, use back the same exterior, but the key sleeve where u insert yr keys has been changed. abit of nifty fingers & correct tools for this.

good to do it when replacing the steering cones.

as for ignition, same as the lock, jus change the key pin sleeves..

as for re-wiring, if really hands on, wires can be procure.

only the coupling connectors are the pain in the ass.

either(I dont know where to get) find locally, or order online(which I did from easterbeaver)

& with crimpling tools & lot of time, shld be able to do it.

otherwise, try asking local parts shop(i.e. FJT & etc) to see if they hv the full bike's wire harness, or,

go overseas online web to source for the whole bike wiring harness & order in?

jus my 0.01¢..

Its better to change the tank cap.

A phantom one will do, cheap also..

okok... gota rephrase...

the actual meaning of "lowering" is to lower the rear end so as to mk it machiam "chopped"

&, when doing so, the rear suspensions are either changed to rigid or hard type or for some, make it solid aka w/o suspension for the nostalgic look.

if just mentioning of "lowering", it could also be meaning, by just adjusting the spring load setting, higher to hard or lower to soft..

erm.. can understand my rantings?

if so.. wana do which one? :?

understood.

wanting to do the lowered look :)

other den going for the lowering kit which will drop me by 1 inch , cutting the spring will yield more lowerage i guess.

like in my previous car when i cut the spring , lower and stiffer .

if u're alone, mk sure u've eaten for the strength needed!

serious.

mount the one below the pillion 1st, which is the one holding the 2 pipes, but dont tighten it.

then align the headers to the engine blocks, patience & care is really a need here, cos is nt easy to align mount on..

subsequently after all the bolts are in place and the headers are touching the blocks nicely, can slowly cross tighten the bolts liao.

best if can gt extra pair of strong hands to help u support..

:goodluck:

Yes. Yay! i managed to do it alone :) thanks kev for the tip.

Have a backache now but worth it rather than the shop fee of $75.

Why is there a hole at the bottom of the exhaust? hmm.

Its so so quiet now (:

Ill see how it goes. If it gives me good low end torque and low fc, i might keep it on.

Ill see how long this statement will last. hehe.

Any one know why my steed like no power when accelerating?

When i throttle, it's kind of like a on-off jerking movement. like the fuel go thru, then block, then go again. very jerky ride...

problem not there when around 70-90. If too slow or above 100 this happens again.

thanks in advance. :)

i guess it jerks especially is you open throttle suddenly but not when you do so gradually? maybe your carb is choked. it happened to me. i went to rosli and had my carb cleared and it greatly solved the problem. but time to time it does happen again and goes away on its own.

Of course I trust my skills. I ride alone cos I don't trust the competency of the driver next to me.

Try again with a full tank of gas this time.

If that doesnt work, get your carb serviced or it could be that water in tank issue.. fuel line choke etc.

touch wood its no engine issue.

my 2 cents

just for sharing my chain of events:

1: had my bike with high idling (according to my ears) from seller who claims everything is alright. (of course, wanna sell bike mah). brought to my favourite mech. washed them twin carbs. idling still erratic/erotic.

2: then, while on the road, i haemorrhagically bled green. brought to shop and subsequently changed a secondhand radiator. (first was busted and patchworked with epoxy, thanks shady seller)

3: erotic/erratic idling was ignored for the sake of need bike to travel. then, one cylinder decides to shut down. brought to mech and was offered 2 suggestions. cheap or expensive repair. cheap - change spark plugs, increase darn idling and go. expensive - valve seal leak. need to top overhaul. i took cheap repair due to desperation and despair from possible bike seperation.

4: lasted one month, idling was ignored but was never out of my mind (cause it hurts to know that your precious is sick but you never bring her to the doctors) cylinder was shot. bike stalled. towed to mech and chose expensive repair. engine was dismantled to stand-by-order. suspicions was backed by evidence. vlave seals GG causing mysterious liguid to seep into cylinder causing failure. gaskets were changed. valve seats were machined flat to improve seals. coolant pump was reserviced. bike was suregically seperated from me for a good 9 days. pain.

5: after having my precious back to me for 1 week, noticed minor dribblings of coolant everday. green blood on the floor is kinda hard to miss. was told that it was normal, possible sign of overflow. (dont we all love that "it is normal" sentence from our mechs. gonna have him check them after i post this text wall.

/resigned to fate.

regards,

chuinjie
