different weight don't go hand in hand with different brands.

 

different weight of rider+load go hand in hand with different spring rate and compression/rebound settings.

 

to HaiR1, pertaining to your question of Bitubo vs Ohlins, I am not too sure of the specs that ohlins offers.

 

but bitubo with canister comes with preload, fast/slow rebound and hi/low speed compressions adjustments.

I heard reviews of hyperpro shocks for cb400 is good. more "sponge" feeling compared to ohlins, ohlins is like hit bumps and goes up very quick.

there is a preload adjuster in the honda tool kit in your bike. use that

stock suspension is always the best. but that depends on individual. try service your suspension over at bikewerkz. reasonable price

If the bike suspension seems to be quite soft when going pass the hump, what servicing is needed to make the rebound stronger?

 

You can't tell that the suspension is too soft when you go over a hump like dat..could be your tyre out of specified air pressure an gives you a cushy ride when going over. First..u hve to ensure that ur tyres air pressure is right. The only time u know when its soft is that when you take a a reasonable hard bend and at the midst of the turn..you feel the back wheel wobbly. Assuming ur's a SHOWA schock (apply to most) You can use a "C" shape like hook grip spanner (originally provided) to turn clockwise down to compress the spring one notch down. There are five and do this for both side. If you have reach the maximum..then have to have ur canister recharge ($40 each at Teck Thye).

 

If it's ur fron't suspension (fork)..have ur oil drained, cleanse and refilled with fork oil (usually 5W to 10W) in case its level has dropped and viscosity increase due to worn out metal filings inside (makes it thick and creamy). Normally I notice that most mototiam only top up 400cc out of the content of 500cc per bottle..do use at least 450cc..myself I use all 500cc for non Vtec bike). If u wanna increase the rebound rate..have a ner fron't wheel axle bearing (the same size one u use to replace ur front wheel axle (bearings) place on top of the inner spring before capping up.

 

If you want to do a full serving or rather a full rebuild with addtional improvement for rebound rate..can always go to Teck Thye at 12 Bradell Road and look for David...there are few other places but I have ot used them before.

Just changed to yss yesterday. Cause budget constraint. Dunno how to write review cause if compare with my previous shock, new shock definitely better right?

I was told yss cannot service. But not sure if it's because of the price for servicing is close to a brand new yss. Mine comes with the canister.
