comeon... why doesnt anyone come up as true biker fragrance ??

smell of petrol, carbon and burning rubber ?

Try Bulgari Black (rubber), or Aigner Black (rubber), or John Varvatos (leather).

For Work: Clinique Happy/Bulgari pour Homme

For Romantic Evenings: Rochas Man/Gaultier2

For Outdoor Sports: Rochas Aquaman/Nautica Blue

For Clubbin': Escada Magnetism/JPG Le Male

For Chillin' at Cafes: Tommy T/ Hermes Eau D'Orange Verte

Try these out, they make you feel great.

BTW where do u all apply your perfume???

wrists and neck.

i like burberry brit for mens.

Hmm, why wrists?

cos perfumes are meant to be applied to pulse points of your body like neck, wrist, inside of ur elbow, behind ur knees, behind your ears, ankles, or ur temples.

applying it to these pulse points can further emphasize the scent of the perfume and it the scent will slowly rise up to a higher point.

the key point here is that fragrances rise. so work from bottom up. *but i dun apply on areas like feet and ankles la, usually is wrists, neck and behind my ear only*

another way to apply is the spray a mist of it in the air and walk past it. this method will allow the perfume to be evenly distributed over ur body. but i prefer spot-on spraying and i am too poor to use the latter method. haha!

If you like smelling the cologne on yourself, try a spritz on the back of your hand. That way, people think you're rubbing your nose when you're actually smelling a great fragrance.

Also, never, ever overapply. You don't want people to think of you as the 'cologne guy'. Ever been stuck in a crowded lift or MRT with someone who reeks of rancid sweat and stale perfume? Not a nice place to be in. And lastly, dont spray on your palms or wrists and then rub them together or else apply onto various other parts of your body. Trust me, fragrance designers did not create their scents with that method in mind. Just spray like 1 shot to the chest and 1 shot to the back of the neck, or 2 smalls behind each ear if you prefer. Then a light shot on each elbow. If you like to smell it constantly, spritz the back of the hand like I said earlier.

Oh and different fragrances have different 'type' of smells. Like Aquatics remind you of the sea or ocean (stuff like Cool Water or Bulgari Aqua or Nautica Voyage), these are good for outdoors, seaside activities, casual events etc. If you want to smell good in the office, go for masculine, 'clean' scents like Armani Code or Boss Elements or Bulgari pour Homme. For clubbing, you'll want to get fresh citrusy or musk-based scents like some Escada or John Paul Gaultier (Escada Sunset Heat is great for Sentosa Zoukout-type parties and Le Male or the Dreamer is a babe magnet).

If you are really short of cash but want to smell like 'money', then I suggest you invest some hard-earned dough on just 3 scents. They're designer scents so they are pricey, but you'll only need these 3 to last for all occasions:

1. A citrus or woody based scent for the office or workplace. I recommend Clinique Happy. Citrussy, very safe and people just love smelling this around you. 2nd choice Bulgari pour homme. Dry, woody and makes you smell like a stable, rich guy.

2. A sporty, fresh aquatic scent. Try Paris Hilton Heir. It's fresh, sweet and uplifting. Really nice! 2nd choice the very common Davidoff Cool Water. Too common already, which is why it is not my 1st choice, but it is a classic.

3. A gourmand, or food-type scent for evening wear or clubbing-type activities. I recommend vanilla-type scents like the JPGs I mentioned. But my first choice would be Sean John Unforgiveable. Simply superb!

Hope this helps!:thumb:

Davidoff Cool Water is definitely :thumb: . All these brands of perfumes are sold at the shops along Jalan Wong Ah Fook in JB for around RM$10. However, the fragrance once sprayed onto your body will last only for about half an hour...

but if u ride bike it will b gone in 10mins

That's true. So my suggestion is to buy a small atomizer to decant your colognes into. Then you can bring around and respray (I wanted to say 'touch up' but that sounds too girly, lol) when the scent has faded away. You can buy them at SASA or similar beauty shops. This is also useful when u travel overseas but cannot bring the whole perfume bottle into your bag.

I also want to add the caveat that perfume is a personal thing. My recommendations are for guys who may be new to fragrances and need a quick update on what's good or 'safe' (based on market research and my own personal observations, i.e. I've personally tested them out). For those who are already enlightened, my opinion is just go with what u like. Don't just take your friends/salespeoples' word for it. Test, test, test, test. Not just on pieces of paper. Test them on your skin. And be aware that fragrances will change as time passes. They are usually made of 3 'notes'. The topnotes are what hits you first and they can last all of a few minutes to at most an hour. The middle or 'heart' notes make up the body of the scent, and these can last a good few hours on some skins. Lastly, the base notes are the smells that linger onto your body last after the top and middle notes have evaporated. When testing, be sure u are able to sample all the notes, otherwise you'll get a nasty surprise when what you thought was a fresh, citrus scent later evolves into a vanilla flowerbomb.

For cheap and original stuff, I recommend Mustafa (huge collection), or those shops in Lucky Plaza or Chinatown which have tester bottles for sale. Testers are original stuff without the fancy packaging. This practice is strongly discouraged by the fragrance industry, but for the ordinary guy, it's a great and cheap way to get a fragrance. Afterall, we don't really need the packaging, do we?

Spicy means a scent that evokes the spices like coriander, cumin, pepper, anise etc. If you tried Indian food, chances are you may have eaten these spices! They smell exotic, woody, or sharp and , erh, 'spicy'.

Musky scents are heavy, 'animal'-like scents like civet, or pure musk. It's hard to explain, but they smell very nice to the opposite sex but maybe off-putting on your own. They can even smell like human sweat on some! You will need to test these out to see if you like them. A good example of a musk scent is CK BE.

Citrus scents are heavy on lime, oranges, lemon, grapefruit (not grape) etc.

I think you are referring to Boss in Motion.

Top Notes

Fizzy Citrus, Green headspace accords .

Middle Notes

Pepper, Cinnamon, Cardamom.

Base Notes

Precious Woods, Musk

So this looks like a fresh citrus opening, with a middle note of spices and a woody, musky drydown. I would classify this as a spicy musk, with an opening blast of citrus. It does have a sweet, vanilla scent on some skins tho.
