yah... shame on me, i know :p

good luck to pool in the CL finals. i hope they win... i really do. afterall, not many champions have the honour of not defending their crown ;)

and spare a thought for the ac milan fans please... they must be feeling a tinge of sadness right now...

"you've got to feel sorry for a side that gets all the way to the final, only to find, standing alongside them in the tunnel, not one of the best teams on the Continent, but not even the best team in Liverpool"

No fourth place, courtesy of Highbury  more like revenge for the lucky Mellor goal. BTW, where was Carragher last nite?

Last night I discovered something. Remember we always hear that Fabregas is short? I found that Garcia is even shorter than that 18 yr old.... kekeke.

well... thats really a shame...

the best in liverpool doesn't even have a crown to start with... and talking about the best in liverpool? you mean currently? well.. maybe but if you're talking about all time best club, it has got to be 'you know who'.. no doubt about that...

if all-time... then it shd b lpool i tink...

facts & figures...

Liverpool has 18 top flight titles, 4 European Cups

Man Utd has 12(or is it 13?) top flight titles, 2 European Cups..

figures dont lie..it is factual,objective & un-biased...

maybe they have the chance to catch liverpool..but the way they play this season...this may signal their downward spiral instead of upward....

as for liverpool..lets hope that their CL run to the finals will spur the team on next season...

errr 1989/1990 Liverpool last championship win. and 2009/2010 isn't that far away :cheeky: and judging from current chel$ki, arse and manure squad (did i mention 30+ points behind league winners?)... yah, those dates r about the most realistic target

btw, i also waited for 20yrs to see the injustice suffered as a result of heysel being addressed. so no big deal.

FA boost for Liverpool Euro hopes

The Football Association have vowed to carry on the fight for Liverpool to be allowed to defend the Champions League title if they beat AC Milan and win the trophy in Istanbul.

UEFA president Lennart Johansson yesterday again hinted that a way could be found for the Reds to be allowed back into next season's tournament as holders, despite not qualifying through the Barclays Premiership.

He urged the FA to make a written appeal to Europe's top brass after stating 'the champion must always be given the opportunity to defend the title'.

FA communications director Adrian Bevington responded by telling the Press Association: 'We have been very proactive on this matter.

'In the past three weeks [chief executive] Brian Barwick, [chairman] Geoff Thompson and other senior FA figures have spoken to [uEFA chief executive] Lars-Christer Olsson and Lennart Johansson on this matter, on more than one occasion.

'We have already submitted a written request to have an additional place for Liverpool should they win the Champions League.

'If Mr Johansson has said we should put something in writing to the UEFA executive committee then we are happy to send another letter once again requesting an additional place for Liverpool should they - as we all hope they do - win the Champions League in Istanbul.'

Johansson offered his support to Liverpool before the semi-final second leg with Chelsea, which saw the Merseysiders qualify for the May 25 final.

But further comments from UEFA's director of communications William Gaillard threw doubt over the prospect.

However, Johansson yesterday told Sky Sports News: 'Let's deal with it when we know the facts after the final of the Champions League.

'And then see to it that we are crystal-clear that the champion must always be given the opportunity to defend the title.

'If the English FA would like to do so, they should make a proposal that would mean extending the number of teams from England in the Champions League next time from four to five.

'They cannot just explain their feelings, they should sit down and write a letter to the UEFA executive committee with a request to extend the number of teams from England from four to five.'

It is believed that pressure has been brought on UEFA from sponsors and TV companies not to allow a situation in which a club as big worldwide as Liverpool are excluded next season.

So there is the Battle Of Liverpool going on... so soon? kekeke... Liverpool still have not won the UCL wor.

Or is it a battle of words between No. 3,4 and 5? Shhhh... no. 1 & 2 haven't talk leh :cheeky:

The fact remains, you either get a Roman, an Alex or a Arsene. Alex and Arsene built the clubs with very little money and by winning. Arsenal is still very poor (hopeful not for long), but Arsene perform too many miracles by pulling the rabbits out of the magic hat. Countless cheap rabbits, like Anelka, Petit, Vieria, Henry, Pires, Ljunberg, Edu, Gilberto, Toure, Ashley, Senderos, Fabregas..... sorry I lost count quite some time ago and this year even more difficult. :help:

Rafa and David are the new messiahs? Let us wait and see... hopefully not another Houllier in disguise. :help:

Sad... Edu is a very good player. Have flair, can score and can tackle. Too bad Arsenal don't want to pay him that much.
