Goggle maps and music

Has anyone got google maps working as a GPS on their phone and have music playing pause when direction are given from the voice command.

 

I plan to use it on a long trip and Ive had issues getting the maps voice commands to pause the music when commands are given.

 

If anyone has it working please shout out and I will spend more time to diagnose the issue. Otherwise any suggestions on alternative GPS systems that also allow music play back of MP3 would be great.

 

I don't plan on using the video system, just need the voice commands.

I do that all the time... But I think the music just soften and continue after that... Not sure if it really paused, but it's not noticeable. Still gets to enjoy both. Was dependant on the voice guide earlier, until I bought the RAM grip.

What grip did you buy? Could you share the cost and where you purchased?

It's depends what configuration you need and what bike you have.

Be sure to mount it on something that don't vibrate too much and put the device flat against the grip. The device stays attached even after going past high speed - more than 100km/h.

Ram mount is one of the most versatile grip system. It can cater to all sort of combinations. Might be a little costly (more than $50, after getting all the combination necessary), but it's a good investment.

I have no issues with that leh. The music will just pause and command will pop up and music will continue.

He meant Google Map navigation. Works much better with Android phone. I think GPS on my phone works better than the iPhone.

i use that too. music will pause when google map giving direction. btw be careful about the ram xgrip. always secure your device with a secondary means instead of solely on the xgrip. i learnt it the hard way. my phone flew off after going over a small bump at 40kmh. i managed to find the phone but it was ran over by cars and was beyond repair.
