Hi there,

This is the Kappa brand, model K42, more of a rear box.

The pic u'd attached is that its being converted into a pair of sideboxes.

To my knowledge, its distributor is here: Kappa distributor(Map)

JAPY (s) PTE LTD

BLK 1039 EUNOS AVE 3, 01-114 SINGAPORE 409846

TEL: 67461898

FAX: 67461891

E-MAIL: [email protected]

Shop 219 use to carry this brand, but not sure whether they still have them now. Can call them @ this number (62977225) to have yr queries clear before deciding.

Or shld you spot them @ any of the bike shops ard, can ask them for price quotes too before deciding.

Hope this help. :goodluck:

hello... I am still under provisional training and yet to pass my license. I might get a TA200 Phantom from my friend and seperate buy side boxes and a rear box with it. Do they sell them in a set? Will it make any difference if I would to purchase a 2nd-hand? How does the weight/size of the boxes affect the efficiency of the bike? Please advise! :weep:

Hi Sephiroth,

Welcome to the PK 1st of all.

Best you pass your licence 1st then you start worry abt other stuffs.

If you have intention to fix on 1st hand sideboxes + 1 rear box, you can ask for a quote regarding the prices of boxes & installation(the price might put you off there) from shops,

or,

shld there's a classified selling boxes, you can get them 2nd handed while cheaper, but you have to self install them most of time.

Depends on your own preference & budget for gettin those boxes.

Tk time to shop around for best prices before deciding. :thumb:

As for handling, if its just a normal 21L or less sidebox, width handling shldnt be much of a problem, any other bigger than that & you might have trouble finding parking lots & squeezing traffic, but that subsides when you get the hang of it.

Depends on own needs & preference here, of cos budget too... :D

Rear boxes will tend to pull the weight of bike's rear down, but so long as you keep to the max weight of 3kgs, shldnt be much of a problem anytime.

Suggest you add on a crashbar aka engine protector so as to protect the bike when accident(crossfingers) occurs and also act as a width estimator when squeezing.

As for efficiency, of cos it'll add on load output to the bike, but same advise, as long as you dont overload or overstress the bike, all shld be well.

Phantom is quite a though workhorse for a simple 2B bike.

Here's my 2¢...

Hope it helps.

I had just bought TA200 and would like to fix 2 side boxes but E21 look too big for me. My ideal size for the box would be slightly bigger than A4 size and width about 5cm. Is there any place selling? Thanks.

Er, there's 1 type that almost suit yr description, sold by LAB, think brand is Safebet, pricing wise, not sure, shld be less than $100.

Hope this helps... :goodluck:

Just got two "safebet" side boxes fitted at Regina for $85.

Only problem is they had to move my indicator lights but it looks okay.

Will be on the big bike fest mass ride if anyone wants to take a look. Watch out for the two "Ang Moh's" on the purple Phantom with side boxes

Cheers

Steve

With just the base plate and screws from the plate mounting are insufficient.

you will require addition bracket to secure the plate from the side mounting.

any side box bigger than E21, I will suggest to have a customised strong side rack or wingrack, else it will appear flimsy as the bracket itself could not support the weight of the box firmly!

You mentioned E33?

I can only say that the best is metal base rack to be used as yr side rack as its Monolock base, plastic base is too fragile unless you are able to mk it more stable(via more parts.)

1 piece of metal plate cost abt $40(+/-, forgotten how much...), can be bought @ Chiap Lee/219/Not Just Helmets, But maybe cheaper @ LAB.

You definitely got ask for their specialist assist as they can fine tune the position for you. Just bring along what you have & they them what box you are installing & they shld do the rest, of cos with labour charges.

Hope this helps...

Yoz dudes,

I have a pair of very new side panniers/boxes to let go cheap, with working signal lights, chrome protection and lockable. Look simply fantastic on a phantom. NOT too bulky for squeezing through traffic compare to Givi E21s.

Just bought but not unsuitable for my bike. Unable to exchange so be letting go cheap about less than half price.

Color : Black

Retail price: $80 (excluding installation)

Asking for: $48

Kindly PM me for more details....

Cheers!

Hi Guys,

My side boxes/panniers that I am selling is still available.

If you are using the normal Monorack that most bikes are using. (Where the rack's securing screws to the bike body is 6.5inches apart)

These side boxes can be easily installed exactly without any additonal brackets required.

At $48 (negotiable).

Please contact me, preferably by sms at 9475 9740.

Attached is another pic.

Thanks.
