Hi

Im currentlly looking for bikes and recently, I've found a secondhand RS125 which cost $5,800. COE till Oct 2019.

I want to look go down and have a look at the bike, but i dont know what to look out for.

can anyone give me advice on what i am supposed to look out for when i take a look at the bike?

also, im wondering if the price is too good to be true, i'm afraid that that may be faulty after riding for awhile.

thanks guys :)

By default.. Buying a second hand bike has its risks.. It all depends on how good the owner has taken care of the bike.. Few things to look out for are tyres, engine running, rusty parts, etc... Take a test ride n feel the engine n any sounds.. If you are not sure then can ask the owner to go to a bike shop for check up... Also it's always good to get the bike fully serviced (engine oil, spark plug, brake pads, coolant, carburetor, etc) after buying.. The best place to do is Ah Seng@37 MOTORING.. Good luck bro!!

Servicing totally depends on the wear and tear parts.. Would be good to keep aside around 500-1000 bucks for the initial one.. From there its on u.. Usually people keep spares like break pads, chain, sprocket set, clutch, etc.

About engine running.. It means during idling is there any miss-beats... When throttle up is there any weird vibrations or noise.. Does it take long time to fire up.. Etc..

It's a 2b bike, so aren't expensive

For me, oil and plug. Then a full servicing alternatively which is around 80-100, depending on the shop u go

How do you maintain it properly? Is the maintenance very expensive?

Usual servicing is not much just oil change which cost 30-50... You need to look out for wear n tear parts which might cost you a bit.. You can work around this by stocking up the regular parts like break pads, chain-sprocket set, spark plug, clutch, etc. Many parts come from uk and shipping is not cheap.. So usually people do group buy which will reduce the shipping cost a lot plus the parts are a bit sharper as well.. Best to join the official aprilia club on fb which will get you introduced to the veterans...
