for gilera vxr or st200, full servicing should be done at what KM? as in, every how many Km should send for full servicing? and full servicing cost $200 right at future scootering?

Hi,

My gilera vxr200 old model has a weird sound when i throttle up above 40km. (feels like the noise is coming from the engine)

The bike is difficult to roll forward or backwards when i off the engine/throttle. (unlike last time when it is easy to move)

And it doesnt free roll forward when u turn off the throttle at a very slow speed, instead it comes to a stop as if got engine brake.

Is this some problem with my belt? cos i am almost due for a belt change

Or some other problem like clutch.

I am going to bring down to future tml for a check

Sheep...after how many km mileage then top overhaul ah??

Sorry bro, i am not too sure. about that. but its usually start to show signs of problems after 2~3 years. consider doing a top overhaul as a high end maintenance

My 2 cents' worth ... VXR 's curves nicer. ST is more angular and sporty, like modern scooters from Taiwan etc. Having said that, I think ST's wheels bigger hence safer. VXR is affordable now, but hard to find an un-abused one. Also VXR stock exhaust known to rust. VXR has analog meters, ST is digital.

I love the VXR's curves, but that is just me.

I know it is not in the same league to compare but let say im gonna use it for 5 years, im wondering if:

1.in term of reliability which is better?

2.Also taking consideration that i travel 100km a day, which one should i get?

3.In terms of comfy riding which is better?

4.Wear and tear?

hmmm what kind of reliability are we looking at here?? bike spolit or what?

2.Also taking consideration that i travel 100km a day, which one should i get?

petrol comsumption? ST200 think abt 22-25 while S4 abt 23 with out V-tec on.

3.In terms of comfy riding which is better?

ST200... more relax.... but if really want comfort go for a Jap 250/400... cheaper in maintenance.

4.Wear and tear?

belt and chain different.... ST200 18000km change while S4 could be 1 year depending on type of chain and how u maintain it.

1.In term of reliability as in, im gonna use at least 5 years, im travelling alot everyday..will the maintanance will be trouble some?

2. Can this bike bring to tour? Say i wanna go KL or Malacca etc?

Posted

both bike can be use for touring but in terms of speed ST200 definitely need more time to reach as compared to your S4.

if u want, think u should look at other bike makes which could be better in terms of maintenance....

1.in term of reliability which is better?

personally i think for 5 years use, get the s4.. nothing beats japs reliability.

2.Also taking consideration that i travel 100km a day, which one should i get?

this 1 oso s4, u haf a better cruising speed with tat.

3.In terms of comfy riding which is better?

if u can live with nothing to grab in front of u(fuel tank), the runner shb be it and oso it

covers u a bit from getting wet. (note the 'a bit' part)

4.Wear and tear?

5 years very long u noe.. but i can assure u tat italians parts are not cheap.

its kinda unfair to compare a runner with s4lah bro.. maybe u can choose a bigger scoot instead? maybe like silverwing or other 400cc scoot? btw its my opinion, others might varies.

Pick up and speed of course S4 will win, somehow ST200 is just a 200cc scoot.

hello bros and sisters.

recently theres something wrong with my bike. When i tried to acclerate to over take cars, my bike suddenly have the not enough petrol flowing in feeling. It always happens when somehow my RPM reaches certain limit.

Any suggestion what is wrong with the bike?

Bro maybe u can start by washing your carbeurator... And proper tuning helps too.. Or another possibility is that your air filter is super dirty or choked...
