The one who fix for u didn't fix the relay for u? Relay is going to help by not burning the stock switch, its not going to make the horn louder or boost the voltage higher if u know what a relay is. When u say bike in stationery, means engine started or not?

Posted

If u want to DIY.

From battery , go to a 20A fuse ,then go to pin 30

Pin 87 goes to your set of horn on the +ve terminal (the -ve terminal of the horn gnd to your chassis

Pin 85 gnd to chassis

Pin 86 goes to your horn switch

Hope this help

The diagram show 2 relay, just refer to the one on the left hand side and ignore the pin 87A

for horn that draw excessive power, usually relay will be provided. If somehow there's no relay, good luck finding a suitable one.

perhaps someone with electronics knowledge can advise you on an aftermarket one.

From what u mention, u bought the Black New Gen Twin Tone right? This one don come with Relay, only the Red color one has.

Anyway u can follow this Wiring Diagram its the same.

If no relays were installed. The full potential of the horns will not be realised.

U cannot say its chim cos this is the way to connect up a relay. U can buy relay from motorshop or autobacs. Just tell them 12V relay. Car or motorbike usually use the same type. If u find the diagram a bit blur , refer to the one anodise57 posted.

Yup one of the forumers selling bosh relays....w/o relay the horn will be weak ,with relay the current drawn is more consistent/stable thus giving u a better horn sound level.

does the relay consume electricity? or just the horn itself??

Anyone got the wiring diagram for the stebel nautilus? I got it 2nd hand, horn, relay and the mounting stuffs but i can't do wiring. Thanks :)

just google it. no kidding, there's dozens of diagrams. Heck, even the diagram meant for air horn works, if u understand the basic concept.

Relay does not consume at electricity, just the horns.

Relay acts as a "switch".to prevent over consupmtion of electricity which might damage the horns and switches.

The wiring all same which are using the relay.

Just need to know which wire goes to which terminal of the relay.

correct me if i am wrong

terminal 30 is batt +

87 is power out for the horn

86 is to switch

85 is to ground.

And it would be good to add in a 15/20amp fuse inbetween the battery + to the relay..

I have a hella relay, it cames along with my Hella Twin Tone, but I didn't use it as there's another relay with my previous horn. If you can make the trip to Sengkang, I'll give it to you. No point charging few dollars for something I don't use.

Anyone can ride a bike. Being a biker, is a state of mind.
