most prob due to the "cover" near the top where you slot your key already spoilt.. thus causing water to seep in when you wash or when it rains.. causing the mechanism inside to kenna water.. just put dip your key into some engine oil and then insert it into your ignition and let it sit for awhile will do the job.. dont apply wd40 .

there is no reason why applying lubricant will make a jam component worse leh....

i agree that applying WD40 is not a good idea. WD40 is not a lube!! it is an alcohol-base solvent that dissolves dirt, grim and etc, and it is also corrosive to some extend. Singer oil is a out-and-out lube. It is commonly used to lube the mechanical moving parts of sewing machine. i have used it to great effect when i have problem inserting mi key into the ignition after rain.

yes...agree wit u..WD40 are not suitable...yes, its effect only last about a weeks or two. but for a long time use, no.

i'm using gear oil which have very high viscocity...on my ignition and tank. :thumb:

it also works great for ur chain lube! :p
