and what kind of EO brand should i get it.. ? after reading this thread.. i got so alot of doubts to go the bike shop on my own... because i really dont know anything... ask my friend.. also they like cant be bothered...

I know now there's like many types of EO brand... but i dont know which one is suitable for my bike..

thanks for the help in advance guys..

since you are riding bandit, y not go clubbandit thread and ask where they normally service their bike and how many km before EO change? popular brands of EO include maxima and motul..

my guess is EO change every 5000km.. check with clubbandit pple to confirm..

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

Regardless of bikes..may be you wanna try my blended eo. I like to know how you feel about it too, especially power performance and protection personally. The base eo is fully sync with ester and blended with two other component and with X-1R yet definitely less then $90...interval change is up to at least 7km.

what happen when eo not enough? can use like sell @ esso?

Yes...just get a litre and top up to recommended level. If its an old bike, find something like 10/40W..either minineral, half sync or fully sync (most costly).

Motorcycle Oil vs. Automotive Oils

Surprising New Evidence on the Viscosity-Retention Question

http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/oiltest1.htm

Also, it should be noted that ZDDP is a "last line of defense"-type additive, generally only coming into play under extremely severe conditions where actual metal-to-metal contact occurs within an engine, something that should never happen under normal operating conditions.

By far the loudest and most-believed claim made for motorcycle oils is that they retain their viscosity longer than automotive oils when used in a motorcycle. The standard claim made in most advertising is that motorcycle-specific oils contain large amounts of expensive, shear-stable polymers that better resist the punishment put on the oil by the motorcycle's transmission, thus retaining their viscosity longer and better than automotive oils would under the same conditions.

The Spectro spokesmen were not pleased when informed of our test results, but when pressed, none could come up with a valid reason why their product should have scored the lowest, either. The only comment we got was, "We only wish you had tested our Golden Spectro synthetic instead of the petroleum-based Spectro 4."

Despite more than six months of research, reading all the claims and counter-claims printed by dozens of industry experts and lubrication experts, MCN cannot and does not purport to know all there is to know about the differences between automotive and motorcycle oils. However, what we do know is that we can find no substantive evidence that using a high-quality, name-brand automotive oil in an average street motorcycle is in any way harmful or less effective in providing proper lubrication and protection than using the more expensive, motorcycle-specific oils.

A Study of Motorcycle Oils

The intent of this document is to provide scientific data on the performance of motorcycle oils and information on their intended applications. The document also attempts to dismiss several rumors or mistruths common to motorcycle oils. In doing so, it will assist the reader in making an informed decision when selecting a motorcycle oil.

Motorcycle Motor Oil

by Mike Guillory

Thank Axin and SNapEl :cheeky:

Was really shock that someone came after his first eo change after 30K...LOL!..eo is slippery like soap water though viscosity thinned out. Quite surprised but I won't do that although with X-1R, an engine can be drained off eo an still runs.

Especially wif the more exp ones like Ah pek n Aixin.....

If i say i wan 'SYNTHETIC'..... Wat do u guys tink?

Is it Fully or Semi?

Bro Ah Pek, not too sure of your blend. Mind give some info?

It's fully syncthetic eo with esther much like those branded ones 5/40W and blended with viscosityenhancer and another component. To be use together with the 3 in 1 X-1R type I have.

Give it a try, otherwise you won't know how good it is in order to compare with the best you had tried. Change interval till 7k and hi-rev riding no problem .

If you say that, I would say you mean to have "fully sync" synthetic eo and with or with ester is another thing.

Think this.."mineral eo last this long, semi sync last longer, fully sync last longest". Its not about how thick the oil is in *viscosity"..its its lubricating properties. With ester, it helps in eliminating water that deteriorated the eo.

to those using maxima, after how many km then u guys change eo uh?

Regarless of brands in name and make..most off the shelf eo last from 3 to 5k and that depend a lot how your riding style is and status of your engine/gera box and cooling system. Eo lubricating properties breaks down fast running on continuos over heated engine so to gauage by "how long in km" is not depenable.

Example..if you don't race around on your ride ofeten and travel to and from work for daily use with regular start/stop riding in traffics, should easily last you up to 5k change interval as a general reference. If you race up North every weekend and occassional continous long trip up to Thaniland, 3-3.5k should be a reference. The eo can still works for you after that but itgonna be 'damaging' when riding at high rpm.

How can your friend s be sure?..are your clutch plates worn in the first place. Could be due to low octane in fuel for that particular refilled. Do u use Malaysia petroal and what grade?

Its the ron number or the petrol grade is too low. U cannot correct that for that tank filled by using Octane booster, a liquid that added to fuel to increase the octane. Sometime petrol blending are all that not perfect somehow. Use local grade 95 should be ok next time but Malaysia petrol..I can't say..or just about any product repacked in a bottle from them in branded names.

Check up wikipedia and read about "engine knocking", you get a better understanding.

oh, so its just petrol itself? i do a quick read through, it did talk about fuel/air ratio. do i have to do anything to it? thanks ahpek! =)

My apology for the above...I meant to say "can" not "cannot". So just get a bottle of Octane booster and add it to your present tank if its still evry full, otherwise if half tank, just go for Grade 98 just to offset the octane level to higher ron values..does helps.

Honestly without any feelings of regret i have to say Apek's brand is by far the best i've felt ever. And i've used alot of top end oils. And this special Apek "cocktail" is damn DYNAMITE.

Hey ahpek,

Thanks for helping me with the belly pan and the Eo change man means alot to me hahah . Also ah ahpek, still got that problem la my bike die suddenly. It always happens when i like blast hardcore like just now i going back i went 180 den slow down reaching exit, then i clutch in the moment i drop my gear my engine dead oredi. Dunno why man. Then i have to push the starter to start it back up again no problems starting it back up. I'm very worried about this :(

I hope its no major issue LOL i'm so broke right now dunno if i can afford a carb replacement or something like dat hehe.
