wow 33,you got so much to type ah....wah...that's a lot of info man...during last outing,we already found a camera man,a reporter, epson speacialist and now ....a bike journalist....

Cool....

Btw guys, last sat was great....appreciate for your time coming down for the kopi, not really kopi but ice milo and ice cream...and mr rocket who travel from east to west then go to east and to west again...a bit complicated huh...

Anyway,it was cool....

We start out @ Kallang KFC,up till 2330hrs due to the late-comers,i believe you knoe who you are, blanja kopi for all next time ah....coincidently,at KFC they have this food called BANDITOS.....so ironic...after the talk-cock session, head for Tanjong Rhu to take some photos of ourselves and bikes....this place gives Mr rocket an idea where to take his girl for dating the next time...

From there,we ride a bit of distance to Changi goin by the coastal.....there we saw 2 TP on the opp side of the rd racing to a scene...quite close though as i was about to open throttle followed by 33 and Bin....

We reached Changi Village ard 0130hrs..had kopi and food for the hungry camera man....chat again till 0230hrs.....

Final destination we headed for mobil near the old Bearney's to tighten my chain...lol..i didnt really noe how as the bandit style of chain tightenin differs from all the bike that i used to ride...once again our little camera man dod the job....we wanted to take our last group photo there when we were stop by the mobil staff....i guess they don't need our help in advertising their company as they already got alot of sponsors and money...

And the most IMPORTANT theory of the day......Skybono and the rest of the guys....plz remember, change your rear sprocket to size 42....

So now you guys noe why my petrol can reach up to 280km and can get that top speed....

Last but not least....our next outing, this coming sat,if every1 agrees,we're gonna go jb and eat, then come out by 2nd link...so we can test the bike a bit...this time i won't bring a lot of stuff in my box... :D

P.s 33,wen i got the cash,we shall go to diz sure can mechanic of yours to change my swingarm and gantung to slingshots okayy......cheers everybody who make thiz happen.... :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Hi guys...I'm sorry also...Kinda busy this past week. Got deadlines to

meet. But this week is just fine for me.

I got this Tips and tricks from one of the Bandit BBSs. Hope you can understand it coz I didnt understand all of it..

A guy named Dan wrote it.

Tips and Tricks.

Here is some info that I have pulled from other Bandit BBSs - cannot

conform or deny if they work - so feedback on their validity would

be great!

Enjoy...

1) Raising the needles will get rid of some of the flat spot but not

all of it. Here why, The fuel for the needle jet circuit must pass

thought the main jet and it's actually the main jet being too small

as well as the lean needle jet that is causing the flat spot. If you

do a little searching on the net you will find that the GSXR 400

came with 110 main jets from the factory and the bandit comes with

100 or 102.5 depending on if you have 33mm or 32mm carbs. This for

the same engine! so to make a long story short and your bike is

stock go to a 110 main jet, raise the needle 1 groove, balance the

carbs and enjoy.

2) Another area that no one here has touched on is getting the

engine to run at a more consistent temp. The stock thermostat is

only 170 degrees F, most of the guys who have done any jetting with

a dyno will put in a thermostat from a Honda 600F3 that is 190

degrees. You get more consistent carburation and more HP with the

hotter running engine.

3)If installing a larger diameter fuel line, it will fit in between

the airbox and the carbs. NEVER feed it through the open area in

between carbs 2 and 3 (it will catch under the thottle assembly

causing the trhottle to stick open)

4) Never buy electronic parts form a junkyard without a guarantee.

5) Intake Manifolds (Suzuki calls them Intake pipes). Apparently,

due to age, these things leak like a sieve. I can look at mine, and

not see any visible damage that would look like it would cause a

problem, but there was. It would leak a vacuum, causing me to run

rich, and foul my plugs and cause the bike not to idle when the

engine was warm. Form-a-gasket didnt work. New manifolds did. They

come with gaskets, cost about $36 a piece, and I highly recommend if

you have idling problems to get the whole set. Another member stated

that he has seen many go bad on Suzuki bikes, a lot right at 9

years. I forget who said that, but i am in debt.

6) Coils. You cant replace the wires, right? WRONG. They unscrew

from the coil just like the boot unscrews at the other end. Just

unscrew it like a bolt. You can probably find replacements at any

auto parts store (a universal kit). Mine were stiff and failing. I

was getting misfires, and backfires and poor response. I went one

better and got the Accel Super Coils. These are a dream, because

they use standard wires, with terminals like a distributor cap and

require the spark plugs have a terminal end like a car. This means

you can use traditional spark testers easier. It also means wires

are easy to change. Just remember to use the rubber top cap for the

original boots to seal the engine so no water gets in.

7) Also, on the topic of the Super Coils, if you order, order the

ones for transistorized ignition, NOT CDI. Our bandits do not have a

CDI box. Many people mistakenly call the Ignition Module a CDI box.

It is not. Getting the wrong type of coil can fry your computer

($$$$).

8) Don't get rid of the airbox. It works best with it. Keep the box,

add a K&N in the box and remove the intake snorkle.

9) Vendors that carry parts for b4

Motorcycle Accesories Warehouse - http://www.mawonline.com

Dennis Kirk - http://www.denniskirk.com

Kiernan Racing Supplies - http://www.braincell.com/kiernan/ (they have a

search function.) These guys have pretty decent prices and customer

service.

10) Here's my [not mine - just straight quoting here, Dan] latest

mod: http://www.geocities.com/john_we...tches.html

I swapped out my faded and aged control switches with a set from

a '97 GSXR750. I had to make some mods to them (cutting a piece from

the left hand side, and crafting a piece for the right hand side).

All the wires are color coded the same, so I clipped the wires on

each unit, and swapped so they could be plugged into the B4s

harnesses. I like the look, let me know what you think. There are

six pictures two of the old switches, four from the new. Thanks for

checkin' out this mod.

11) Q: What torque should I use on the 12 bolts keeping

the "cylinder-block" and "top-head" together?

11) A: The 12 nuts are torqued to 18-21 foot pounds. The 6mm bolt

from the bottom up is 6-8.5. Make sure the 12 nuts are torqued

first before tightening the smaller 6mm bolts. The smaller ones can

snap. You should also retorque the larger bolts at the first valve

adjust. Do them one at a time. Learned this from a builder. helps

save your head gasket.

12) Q: is it difficult changing the fork seals on a 92' 400? I'd

like to do it myself, but i'm not sure if i need any special

equipment.

12) A: I did have a steering stem front end stand already. My only

problem was trying to yank out the fork tube without removing the

retaining clip/ring that locks in the seal. Oops. Once you get that

ring out the seal comes out easily. I think I got my measurements

for oil height from the Race Tech valve emulator instructions. Thats

another thing, you may want to upgrade your springs/oil while you've

got the forks open. If not, I think I paid just $10.00 for the

seals. Fresh oil and seals alone should feel noticably better.

As for a special tool, I got a length of 25mm (ithink) square

section tube, then nipped in the four sides in a vice so it looked

like a 4 pointed star, then it is a metter of pinch a bit, try it,

pinch a bit try it until you get it to fit in the large start socket

affair on the inside of the fork, then using the allen key in the

bottom of the fork leg undo it.

When the inside damper bit is out, it is worth measuring it so that

you can be more accurate with the tool for next time.

That's what I have found floating around online so far :)

Have fun!

Dan

Don't think too hard about it. You don't need a reason.

JUST RIDE.
