hmmmm...bigger cc is good. if triumph ever comes out with a DAYTONA 1050, I'll be sure to get it!!!(after the 675-hehe) seriously, if u put a 675 with a say fireblade/R1/Suzook, a 675 will beat them in the aspects that count FOR ME and me only. the streetable torque, the fuel consumption, the look of it, the character of the bike, the SOUND from the exhaust!!(oh god-getting orgasmic liaoZ) and lastly the rarity of the bike seals the deal for me. dun tell me about BHP la, Max torque la... i dun need them on SG roads anyway.haha...top speed as compared to R6 sure lose but who wants to rev the ass out of the throttle in SG and sure kanna speeding onez. (no offence hor bro-i know where you're coming from) Haha...from ur siggy i can see that u like to THINK BIG! hehe...and THINK FAST!

so for me, the triumph daytona 675 is really THE bike to really WOW about.(and mabbe some classics like the 916, norton commando, BSA rocket 3)

psss...and road tax not so expensive!hehe....

rocketman2, dun scare me can?! LAUNCH PARTY?!!! i wanna go!!!!AHHHHHH.....

If anyone is waiting for a 1050 Daytona, can wait long long. I checked with Mah a few weeks ago, apparently Triumph stopped production of its Daytona models, save for the 675. The old Daytona 955i sportsbike has been replaced by the Sprint ST 1050. I think sales of the Daytona were dipping, so they decided to work more on their flagship streetfighters.

haha..yea, i know its a long stretch, but if they're gonna compete with the big 4s, (they already won in the middleweight category-with the 675)what better way to do it than on the 1000cc category. haha..the street triple was already anticipated after daytona 675 came into production becaz the engine is THere. so since the 1050cc engine-speedtriple/tiger/sprint is such a wonderful motor, maybe they will try something with 2010? haha...

normalaspirated, is hayabusa really that practical?i dunno lei..caz i tot the size and all-a bit hard to adapt on singapore roads.unless u're toking abt malaysia roads...hehe...

haha...16-17km/L i'm guessing the busa shld do ard there also...i've heard some busa owners doing 13km/L. they dun call the hayabusa the hyper sports tourer for nothing...everything is designed with ergonomics and aerodynamics in mind...for the classics range, they dun really appeal to me..its good for city riding and stuff..kinda like a super souped up RXZ.haha....

the first "new (t409)" tiger is a real bike...all the rest have gone ..granted that they are technically superior, easy to ride, handle and fast machines, they lack the character, feel, style, intimidating looks and sound of the first model of the new era triumph's!

that baby was a head turner that had an attitude..it was a man's bike!

only 5 examples left in s'pore...there is an exceptional example in black somewhere. there maybe a blue one that has been motarded as well....

I am thinking of a adventure bike in my near future, Triumph Tiger 1050 seem good to me. Dry weight 198kg with nice styling. :)

Happy hunting. It costs $29k. I'd pay up to $25k for a bike like that, but $29k is over the hill for me.

well, with the new tiger 1050, they completely took off the off-roading capabilities of the tiger. the old tiger could be taken off roading no probs. comparable to the gs at that period in time. however, now that that triumph has took a different approach to this tiger, it seems like triumph will lack a proper off-roader in their range of bikes...u win some, u lose some. the mags have been giving it good reviews anyways....character wise...i can't comment cause i've never seen an old tiger or ridden one either!!

NormalAspirated>>>if u wanna look in the BMW range, take up their Parrallel twins bikes-F800 or the old boxers-bikes like F80GS,F100....blarblar...those are the ultra reliable types..easier to service too.

The old tiger can be taken off road by an experience rider...it is a handful of a machine. The new one is almost a sport bike hunter/killer in the hands of a capable rider.

BMW's are reliable machines, but the lack soul because they are so technically advanced that they have become almost clinical. On the other hand bikes with character, like the triumphs and the italians, have soul but sometimes, when **** happens and you will want to just rip their innards apart, usually accompanied by loads of swearing and heartache (to the heart and wallet (sometimes) to sort out the mess....but get it right, they provide their riders with loads of smiles and pride.

Marvels of engineering, aren't they...

I was considering a switch to a boxer earlier this year... didn't materialise after I found out their used price was as high as a new litre-class Jap bike!

haha....yes...i can understand the cursing and swearing when stuff happens. yea, BMW bikes are so different from the mainstream manufacturers-suspension is so different already.

Not really true that beemers are exhorbitant if you know how to shop around. Cheapest beemer i've seen was about 5k for an old GS, and a decent RT or 1100GS can go for 9k. True, beemer don't come cheaper than Japanese, but think of it as maintaining resale valve when you sell later.

near 10-year old beemers are good value now, since they go for 6 to 10k, and in my view age and mileage does not really affect a beemer as badly as other makes.

juz my 2-cents' worth, and please throw in some discount from a beemerphile.

Cheers

True... I'm an avid reader of UK BIKE magazine, and most reviews or adventures that they did, the BMW usually came out tops. A few months back there was an article on 3 super old bikes which they tested for a road trip; a BMW, a Honda and another make. Needless to say, the BMW completed the trip whereas the other 2 didn't!

Check out http://www.euromotoelectrics.com/ for BMW spares.

Yes, I think PML charge by the hour, but there are at least 2 other places to do beemers. There would probably be places apart from Mah that services Triumph?

Back to beemers, in the first place, a well maintained Beemer should stand up to wear and tear without problem, since the parts are generally of good quality and they will last. Oil filter is about $28, seals about $6 or $10. Frankly I dunno whether that is expensive or cheap, I think it is reasonable. Best of all, available at PML immediately since these are wear and tear parts. I also think that the boxer engine is quite simple and accessible compared to in-line.

Then again, I love beemers.

Cheers

haha..i saw one motoguzzi today. simliar box but v-boxed. too bad not very big following in sg. boxers are a rare sight la. as long as Performance motors put their beemers' price tag so high up, the beemer club should be rather exclusive i think. just like triumph. wahaha...more x than jap bikes but exclusive manz.

Where and wat guzzi did you see? The one at Kallang cycle? Really exotic bike to me is Bimota, damn rare.

Sometimes exclusivity is very relative, like there's actually less Gas Gas than Triumph or BMW, less Bajaj than Ducati, more Harleys than Cagiva. Amazingly, best value "exclusive" bike would be Royal Enfield, only 20 on the road.
