If you are thinking of buying another creative lab products. think again.

I bought many of their product, audigy, prodikey and was thinking of getting their X-Fi... after knowing these bits of news. I have dismiss all those thoughts and was granted immunity from all their future poison. Haha... :cheeky:

I would not be surprise if these 'outcry' would force them to release those advertised key features back into vista. If they don do it, it will be gravis soundcard 1995 all over again.

He's made grave mistakes to Creative, and those mistakes are apart from him soliciting donations.

While I respect his decision to contribute to the Vista community by releasing software drivers, Creative Labs has already made it clear to that lad that he's "going his own ways" on what he doesn't own. Moreover, he has made his wares (the tweaked-to-work-in-Vista soundcards) available to the public.

Isn't this already "something wrong"?

It's all about Intellectual Property, or better known as IP, in short.

If people think that Creative did not do their part in product support by updating their soundcard (drivers) to be Vista-compatible, then these people have no choice but to buy another, or to go for another brand. It's business reason (and hence, the release of an economical product) vs public sentiment

Joey_sfb, sentiments like these are better left aside. Or behind closed-doors with Daniel_K, where he is free to give you the updated drivers so that you can live a happy life without anyone knowing.

Cheers

I've decided to boycott Creative since I got an Mp4(Creative) for my Bday. It looked good but its usage sucked. Compared to the 80gb iPod I have now, the mp4 can be down into the bin. Sorry S'pore talents supporters.

After reading the link. I'm FIRM on not supporting Creative. Hope they get some 'creative' ideas to pull themselves outta this. Hope to see this piece of news in the papers or tv

agreed with all comments. no sentiments on this issue just spreading the words and let others decide for themselves. two reasons for that, first the alternative brands provide similiar quality products....name it MP3/4 player apple inc or china branded, speakers/webcam..logitec n microsoft, second; onboard sound does a good job even for gaming as EAX support is no longer standard in recent games....no idea why though??

audiophile dun really buy Creative sound cards, they have their own brands

What's more, want to know how Creative software developer feels about X-Fi soundcard, read this...

http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=Vista&message.id=23909

I hope Creative learn from their mistakes, put things right for themselves and their shareholders. If this is not war with their own customer base, i don know what else is...

One last thing, i am not using vista yet...so my current audigy serves me well. Next soundcard 'onboard'!

Interesting readup and links to these 3rd-world soundcards. Usually during a computer purchase, one usually don't factor in the sound quality that computer would bring -- via its provided soundcard, excellent or subpar.

When I get to build a deserving rig (my current one is so :faint: ), I'll probably focus on more than one brand of soundcards. Must not, err..., judge a packaging by its colour anymore.

from what i understood from other posts, back then, creative sued aurreal and lost the lawsuit. however, the legal battle had a huge financial drain on teh company. so creative bought over the company and took over the technology for their soundcards

nothing creative about that. anyway. im no longer going to buy any other creative products

There's now so many aftermarket brands of soundcards available of very high quality, not just Soundblaster-compatible.

Heck, some even support open-source for hackable drivers.

So.....
