The coil on my bike burnt last year in August the night before I was to leave for Sepang. Luckily I managed to change it at BS (bike under warranty still) on Saturday morning and then rode up to Sepang with AT and Rommel. Mileage then was 30,000km.

Now my bike is at 55,000km... wondering if it is going to burn again soon. Looks like I am going to bring the bike to Looi's and get Meng Tong to check the coils out for me to see if they are OK. If showing signs of failing, I am going to change them out regardless how little the burnt areas may be.

Coz next weekend, I will be at Sepang. Gorgeous, delightful, orgasmic Sepang.

Come to think of it... I put on a new pair of Michelin Pilot Power Race for the April 1st weekend at Sepang and next week I am replacing them with another set!!! :faint:

HaiZzzz Meng Tong nowadays so busy... Want to go for dyno run also waited for 2 weeks plus already... :sian:

The Ducati helmet is clearly an Arai. It's got a slight line and buldge here and there to distinguish it between Arai's own line of helmets. Red helmets are very nice when seen with own eyes.

:thumb: Good tip, whenever at Pagoh Esso, never park your bike next to this drain. The road slopes one side and this may happen to your pride and joy.

I hope the rider managed to take it out. His friends were there to help, so I didn't stay. The last time, I saw a towed car here split into half. :giddy:

May 06 Superbike review of the litre class bikes.

While we all know different mags would rate each bike differently, I've yet to see the FireBlade rated last. It may not be the ultimate sportsbike, but it's a damn good bike, and a safe bike to put your hard earned cash down.

Red is the way, nothing less

An RVF among the Blades will stick out like a sore thumb, besides my RVF wont be able to catch up with you all

Anyone tried this tyre before? German made, thread looks nice.

This is the local distributor.

Jus change conti attack few days ago, so far feels great

especially on the cornering part

i feel tat the rear size 190 is working like size 180 on cornering, very easy to do cornering unlike the BT014 which I used previously

but for mileage still need to wait and see

n most important, price is gd

It always feel great to put on a new set of tyres. Probably your 014 was worn in the middle, so the profile was a bit squarish. When you changed to the new Conti, the newer rounder profile on a fresh tyre makes it easier to turn.

How much did you spend on the pair and where did you change? Wet grip ok? You must've ben caught in the rain over the weekend trip.

How was your Terrenganu trip? Any pix to share? How long to get there?

once awhile,my notron AV will pop up blocking some "adware".de NAV just delete the main file, while i use spyware cleaner to remove the rest.so no choice for de "spyware" to do anything yet for me.

Hi fellow Bladers,

Has anyone fixed an alarm in your Blade? Coz I have a CAT3 alarm that was taken out from my RVF, intending to fix it to my new Blade, but was told that an alarm isnt necessary on our Blades. Any comments on this?

I have cat 3 installed in my bike. To me as long as it helps to deter idiots from meddling or stealing my bike I will do it. Honda has HISS built in the bike and yes it does helps your bike from being stolen but only to certain circumstances. If the theif decided to take the whole bike also no point. At least if the alarm sounds it will definitely attract attention this is the last thing a thief would want to happen

Hi. Thanks for the reply. Did Bernard/James install the alarm for you? Where did they install it?

Coz if they were the ones, then it wont be a problem when I have mine installed.

James installed it for me the 1st time. The second and third bernard did it for me. You may be asking why I need to install it 3 times. Well actually the alarm had problems with the sensors for the first batch. The current one I am using is performing very well. I am pleased with it. If you are looking for a better alarm get scorpio IS 200. Motorworld is having a promotion on it the last time I heard. Not too sure when they end. Do check it out if you are interested.

Spent total $330 for front 120 rear 190 @ bikeworkz as thats the only place i see got sell conti tires.

Caught in heavy downpour on the return trip in between kuantan and Segamat

The trip was fun. Took 8.5 hrs to get there including rest. Around 880km in total.

But the trunk road seems very dangerous when @ nite

But quite surprise that the road condition is quite gd thru out the journey as in we wouldn't see much pot hole around

Sorry, no interesting pics at the moment

But overall, it's a nice trip

Hi guys,

What engine oil do you all use? I was rec Maxima 15W50. What engine oil do you all think is better for the Blade?

Sorry, got alot of questions to ask....

Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha. Don't tell me. Was it Ken who recommended you the oil?

Hello Swordsman Chiu, what kind of oil are you recommending our friend here? I know you're reading. Post something dude, we all miss you. Anything except for, "Hi, I'm Ken".

I wouldn't recommend Extra for the 1000rr. However, give Ultra a go. I'm still testing it though. So far so good. I've hit over 3,000km on the Ultra. From 1,600km, the gear shift starts to feel clunky. Nevertheless, engine smoothness wise, it's still holding.

After much discussion with Impex, we think the Blade prefers thinner oil. Waiting for my next oil change before I can be sure.

Tashi  It is an unavoidable aspect of a thinner viscosity oil, whatever brand you use. Many people swear by 15W50 precisely because that clunkiness is their pet peeve. You are more like me, prefer smooth fast revving engine. Besides, it is only clunky in the very low rpms, I don't stay there in my 600cc rev happy machine. Interestingly, some newer design gearboxes are very smooth, you've got to try the 06R6. Yet the rider is complaining to me no end about it, saying he prefers my kind of shifting feel. Fussy fussy :cheeky:
