I personally feel it is almost sacrilegous to put that rack on a CBR1000RR.

I don't think the designers of the bike had ever intended for the bike to look like that. Just imagine Nicky Hayden's or Pedrosa's bike looking like that. The CBR1000RR is supposed to be the road going replica of Honda's moto gp bikes.

Gives me the goosebumps when I look at the pictures. Might as well put a Monokey box at the back and attach a sidecar to it too.

You Firebladers cannot be serious about this.....or are you?

Do you vagely remember seeing a CBR929 with ugly red plastics and topbox lurking around PG occassionally? "Nice" isn't it? :help: ha ha

Past: KDX200, LC4 400, LC4 620, GSXR750WR

Present: CBR900RRY, Gas Gas EC250, XR250L, XR250RV, XR400 (motard-ed), NX650 Dominator

Yup I'm considering

But I only use it for long haul tours to secure by bag

Felt uncomfortable using tankbag difficult to manouver around congested roads

Backpack will strain your back

Chilly, imagine if the pipe is shoved up the ass and he farts a big one, with the baffle removed, must cover ears! :cheeky:

What is a nice alarm system that doesn't have a bulky boxy big remote?

Eldo, one trick is, extend your backpack straps to the fullest and let the bag rest on the seat. That way, you don't have to carry the load on your back. Pillion can also use the bag as a pillow and rest. The backpack simply fills up the empty area between the pillion and you, so it's more comfy for the pillion as well.

However, make sure you put some stickers on the plastic bit on the back of the rider's seat to prevent the bag from scratching the plastic.

For 2 up sportsbike touring, this is the best configuration.

Motoworld uses simple wire mesh for e rad guard.

And charges between $10 to $25, depending on type/model of bike,

without dismantling the radiator too........

JB - They come in a types of meshing (diameter of holes) & even colours.I did mine around $30.Wires mesh are cheap.I forgor how much but i think it's around $4 per roll.1 roll is more than enough.Raptor DIY his and it cost him just that much.Raptor still got the template for the radiator but his is for 04 & 05.

The Ultra 5W50 lasted me 5000km. Gear shifting was getting unbearably notchy for the pass 300km.

Collected the 5W40 from Impex today and headed straight to the BS during lunch for a quick change. The Stink went crazy and checked so many boxes on the service sheet. I think he was just glad to see me. Heh. I should feel lucky since I'm going up to KL.

Wow, I never knew Bladerunner sounded so good until Impex took it for a short spin to feel the 5W50.

He felt that it was still smooth. This reminded me when I tried Chilly's Blade with Motul at 3000km. I thought it was smooth, but Chilly couldn't take it and said it was notchy as hell and couldn't wait to have it changed. At 5000km, the 5W50 is clearly EOL for me.

Impex, with fresh oil now, the gear shifting is softer and smoother. I'll let you try if you can join us in one of our Sat night makan outing.

Thank you for meeting me at such a short notice today.

sure no prob. when u say things like 'unbearably notchy', I am mentally expecting to ride a bike that can't find neutral, clunks unsmoothly into gears or generally can't shift thru the gears while not moving.

Now as oil ages with use, the viscosity will change slightly, irregardless how good it is. Usually the problem goes away with some twiddling of the clutch play to compensate. Now I was prepared to twiddle your knobs and see if I could get things back closer to norm. Imagine my surprise when I can't even find an obvious fault for a start to begin searching for an adjustment. You must have a gram calibrated shifting foot! 5k milage with consistent shifting performance till the last few hundred km (yet still feels so incredibly slick) is very tough to achieve for a 4T in these supersport machines.
