Best to get battery reconditioned so that your battery can last longer. I'm still using my original battery for coming 4 years now. You can get your battery re-conditioned at Lim Battery for free. Yes, for free  :bounce:

Hi Gohjohan, can you explain how by not whacking your bike too high, helps to look after your battery or help the rectifier in any way. Would appreciate your kind comments.

As for me i clean the contact points with electical cleaning solution, making sure no rust or acid built up/those greenish whitish stuff.

making sure no leakage, and making sure the battery gets charged properly, for this a volt meter will be a great use.

Dun overload them - charge them especially if the bike is not begin use often.

Frankly speaking, how many of us maintain our battery... :giddy:

I recommend reconditioning once a year, but heavily used battery, like electrical forklifts & stackers should recondition twice a year.

There is a lot of confusion on this " dry cell " battery - are u refering to Mantenance Free " MF " battery. Or are u refering to " AA " & " AAA " type dry cell battery. I am refering to Automotive batteries.... most are acid-filled & some are acid-filled but fully cover to prevent leakage so " MF ". Then there are the Gel type as well. The " dry cell " like Ni-Cad, Ni-MH & Lithium Ion battery requires different charging system.. :)

Good quality bike batteries can last an average of 4-5 years if she is not overloaded. The poor quality batteries cannot last even a year most of the time.

BTW, all " MF " batteries must be charged using a electronic battery charger. It is widely known now that those ppl who charge the "MF" batteries using the old type charger - tends to over charge the battery & damage the battery.
