so u are saying if i want to use as daily transport i must get one at the best condition possible? how much would it cost to maintain one monthly? would $100 a month be enough assuming that i pay the bike by full cash? $2k should be enough for a cg125, helmet and all the accessories? then i can save up my other $3k..:cheeky:

I dont know, what kind of dist you travel?

For cg is way above the price for this bike, depend on the condition, it would come cheap like less than 1k man, or just 500 bucks. Helmet and accessories not that x lah.....depend on what you want your bike to mob like.........more ideas will cost more............

My opinion:

Get a new bike like rxz, or 2nd hand bike rxk,as transport, this are some reliable bike worth looking at with low maintanence.

Then look for the classic bike you are looking for, by then you would have save enough $$$ to restore or mob according to your liking. But when you are restoring the bike it will cost you a bomb!! Search in the net and read up bikee forum on how they restore bike for start.

Why we have two bike or other transport?

Classic bike like old antique which are very fragile, you would not want your beloved bike kana rain or any form of damage as far as possible. As far as possible dont stress your baby.

For any bike, the major concern is "petrol" and nothing else. I guss $100 for petrol i tik is enough lah, depends on the milage. As for engine oil we dont change often, must depend on your milage. For myself i would change my engine oil when it reach 1K, that depend on individual. Spare plug we also dont change like underwear........

haiya i thought this kind of bike so old liao sure very durable...seems i misunderstood them abit......

actually i did consider the RXZ at first but i hate the looks.....any idea if it is possible to mod the exhuast to horizontal like the rxk or cb125? and the headlight also change to look like cb125 round round shape.....cause i know the RXZ is durable and i like its performance too..but i cannot tahan its "try to look sporty" looks... :weep:

thanks guys! after going downstair and look at the RXK and look at the pictures i think its the best bike suitable for me.....just one last question!

i realize the rxk is a 2stroke bike...what additional regular+long term maintenance would it need?

long term its hard to tell what will break down or wat will happen.. no one can tell the future..

if intrested add me on msn..

i will tell u more about the RXK..

Try to ride someting common 1st. Have a feel of the bike 1st. In your case, RXK is the choice now. In term of speed, it fulfilled u, in term of old vintage bike looks, it can really look nice if you know how to mod it (learn from the expert guys here, i am still learning from them too).

From the guys, taking over a CB bike now for you will cost you alot because of the limited spare parts available here in spore.

In terms of maintence, that depend how you are riding your bike.

Dun be like my KUKU frnz, he got a bike (kawasaki ZXR). He rode it for a week without realising that he has to top up his 2T. Guess what, he has to overhual his bike after he purchased it for 2 months. He didnt Know that this is a small (or common sense) responsibly to take care of his bike.

And this is the last thing we would want to see.

Hope that you got ur ideal bike soon.

To prolong the life of my W400 chromed fenders, I painted the underside of the fenders with some antirust paint.

7 months old and 7000km on the odometer already show sign of rusting.

My W400 is the later version with reinforcement rib at the rear fender, earlier W650 doesn't have this and some bikes have distorted rear fender after a while.

Scrambler?

I am a bad painter but fortunately the painted area is at the underside of the fenders

speaking about 2t...how often should it be topped up? i heard there are three kind of 2t right? mineral, semi synthetic and full synthetic......which would be the best for RXK? cause i heard that some engine cannot tahan good 2t? any brands to recommend? dont want to scrimp in regards to maintaning engine life..

My favourite shopping centre - Mustafa Centre! :thumb:

I bought 2 cans, only used up 1 can even though I applied 3 coats for both fenders. I can give you the other unused one if you need it.

I totally agree with throttle about em exhaust of yours (think it's also to do with the angular shape for your front headers compared to the more rounded others) - angles define the muscular look while the smooth curves depict a more feminine profile

Phang, care to share with us what you did with your exhaust mufflers?

Yeah guys, let us know if there's any early meet. Didn't manage to catch you guys the last time round. :)
