guys, recently my ug2 180 got like backfire noise, anyone has the same experiences?

Mine at times have if my AFR is too lean ...

Free flow pipe is one of the common things for backfire if AFR is too lean.

Did you modify your exhaust? .. means of removing the TEC chamber, whack down the db panels in the silencer pipe and also the catalytic converter?

If not than ....

Other common causes of backfires are:

1: Poor or unregulated engine timing is often a cause of intake backfires, but can also be responsible for exhaust backfires

2: Improper wiring in the ignition can also lead to timing issues and backfires

3: Low fuel pressure, clogged fuel filters, and weak fuel pumps could cause a severe lean air-to-fuel ratio during fuel injection

4: Missing or damaged catalytic converter can result in backfires out the tailpipe

Source : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Back-fire

Source : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engine_timing

Another solution you can opt to try is to have a ported slide in your carburator .... this ported slide is best for those who did the 'tebuk' (whack the db panels) and removal of the catalytic converter or using illegal aftermaket pipe ... hmmmm

changed my front brake pads yesterday

not bad the sbs ones

my stock ones looks like they still have some life in them

now JB Ron97 Rm2.70

its going up up up...

How long(in kms) did you use your stock brake pads? I read somewhere that you can take a look at the brake pads(while they are on the bike) and make out how much of the brake pad is still left. I tried looking at my bike's but couldn't see it.

Wow 2.7 RM! Now Malaysians will really think whether their cars/bikes need to RON97 or not and not blindly fill RON97.

hmmm, i don think the exhaust is modified. i got the bike for about close to 2 weeks now. when i jus rode no backfire leh, recently then got backfire. like when i close throttle, den sometimes got pak pak pak sound. very very soft. but to me is still backfire ah. hahah. any side effects if i dont do anything bout it? usually it backfires when i close throttle den the rpm around 3 den will backfire. but performance wise, still not affected. i also changed engine oil last week, mutul fully sync at excel.

oh and btw, whats AFR?

i think it will be good for you to invest in a set of better rain coat

if you have the cash then a lot of pulsarians here will say get RS Taichi

if not the thicker one like the OGK one sold by ah boy and helmetboys should last you quite some time

or can opt for the rain coat from JW shop

goretex jacket only covers your top and not your bottom

get a proper full set with the rain pants

i think a proper set of rain gear is an investment that all bikers should have

of course protection gear is also as important

lol ... I checked all price around there ... $45 - $50 before shipping for this brand ...

btw acerbis brand price vary depends on model ... light plastic one think is cheaper than those model with metal bar attached for more stability.

Did you know that Original Acerbis Dual Rod with LED and metal bracket cost $220 at HKL? .. previously I did asked them for the price and I think Gaban also did enquire from them or Chong Aik some time ago ... sigh
