arthur will be claiming the driver's insurance

the driver's insurance company will not cover

so unable to claim

Can claim ,but have to make a private claim. You will have to hire a lawyer. I am not certain if lawyers by motortiams will take up the case, though. No insurance company to chop.

Thankfully, i have yet to have anyone make a motor insurance claim against me, but my line of work has me filing several reports on behalf of my subordinates for the past few years. Not a fun process to go through, but someone has to do the dirty work.

Thankfully, mars is around to make my job much easier.

bro, the sequence is wrong

1) accident

2) take pic

3) go ambulance

4) tp arrive at scene, rider is missing, so vehicle is compounded by tp (if rider is there, he/she has to arrange his/her own tow to remove the vehicle)

5) report police, idac, insurance (now u mention it, i havnt report insurance :cheeky:)

6) wait 4 tp's call if there's an investigation

7) tp interview

8) wait for tp result, takes 2-4 weeks.

9) court case/claim settlement involving insurance & lawyers

10) both parties accept the fault/claim percent, case close.

If i were to add, and to be terribly anal about it, you should check yourself for injuries before even standing up. You might feel fine with all the adrenaline streaming through your system, then when you lift your arm, you find a bone poking out from your forearm. Ugh.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

Hey Arthur .... since you are 'towed' in the ambulance ... how's your injury? ... Can share the pain with us? .... Fast recovery yeah ... kekekekekeeke

oh yea, forgot to share that, i let myself be towed just to get mc only, like i mentioned in my prev post, i see this case in my favour, so go hospital & let tp come in. there's no hurt xept for 2 scratch n a bumped shoulder.

i can actually op for pte settlement, but the situation got out of hand, too many ppl come in, so i siam away n let my tax money do its work. :cheeky:

lol, that's for my case. of course if u were seriously injured, the sequence will be in another way.

In that case, this might be the sequence.

1 get up, all fanatical and ready to trade blows with the third party. Raise up your arms, and realize you are lacking your left arm from the elbow down.

2 scream in horror.

3 when the adrenaline wears out, scream in pain.

4 keep screaming until you pass out from blood loss.

5 wake up in the hospital, with your arm reattached, but shorter by an inch and a half.

6 get interviewed by your IO when you are off your meds. Its a good thing if your IO makes the effort to visit you in the hospital, rather than wait for your discharge and then asking you to drop by his office. Haiz.

7 armed with your police report that your IO made, head down to your motortiam to hire a lawyer, as well as start rebuilding your motorbike. You may need to sign a release form before the tow truck can collect the bike from the pound. Whats that? Motorbike beyond economical repair? Song bor. Collect the bike remains anyway, and select a part that you will want to hang on the wall. I suggest the entire head assembly, displayed on a podium as your living room centerpiece. Your motortiam should also settle the report insurance side.

8 wait patiently for the claims to be done. You are not going anywhere soon with your arm busted anyway. Consider sueing the doctor for incorrect installation of the steel plates on your formarm, leading to it being an inch and a half shorter than the other one.

9 you got the money from the claims? Congrats, time to settle hire purchase from the bike shop.

10 set aside excess to purchase another bike. Dont spend all your money on the new bike though, physiotheraphy is not cheap.

thanks for clarifying Arthur & Fredd. A bit better now to understand, but I still have a few questions :cheeky :

- I suppose IO is investigating officer ? Is he with the police or with your insurance ?

- By right all parties are heard by the police, so Fredd when you said the witness lied and your light was green when you went through, what happened ? What made the TP believe the witness ? Is it because you were speeding ? I can understand that when it's a complex situation, it can go to court. But a junction, regulated by traffic lights, that's very clear. Someone has the right to go through, and someone doesn't. That's it. So if there's an accident in the middle, someone went on when they should have stop. So they are saying you should have stopped. Even if there are no cameras and no witnesses, by right everyone is heard and can give their version. So what would make the TP think you're lying and the taxi cab and witness are not ? Surely they investigate where the witness was and what he was doing to make sure he just didn't appear on the scene AFTER the accident, and that he was at the right place to have a clear view of the accident ? I'm not being naive here. Sure justice systems are not 100% reliable everywhere, but in SG the police are quite thorough and diligent, so what made that TP think you were at fault? Is it a bias against bikers ?

- Arthur : what were you wearing that only got you scratches when you fell ? Because you usually don;t wear protective gear, do you ? Were you wearing gloves ? Did it help ?

- You have to wait for the police report results to be able to claim, so to be able to repair the bike, is that correct ? Or you can start the repairs and pay and then get the money back from the insurance ?

BTMO APRIL 2011

Singapore Pulsarians, let's go to A&W !

Important info :

- Please do not be late. The schedule is easy to enjoy fully if everyone participates in keeping it. Plan your ride to Tuas in advance, to know how long it will take you to reach the meeting point. If you are late, message the contact number (try not to call as we could be riding at that time). We will wait for late comers, but please consider that those who get to the meeting point on time will have to wait longer..

- If you have never been to Malaysia, or through the second link customs, please let us know when registering, it will help us be even more supportive to make this a great experience for you

- Leave the Pulsar Stunt Mania tricks at home that morning :) The more the ride is done as a team, the more enjoyable it will be, so we don't have to worry about each other speeding, overtaking or getting in trouble on the road in any way. We ride as a team. :thumb:

- Don't hesitate to stop or slow down at anytime during the ride. if you feel tired or if you need to wear your sunglasses, or if you have a minor problem with the bike, just stop and don;t worry, the convoy will stop too and help. Don't hesitate to ask questions, to raise concerns, there's no stupid question or remark, sometimes asking makes you feel more comfortable for the rest of the trip :o

More importantly... ENJOY THE RIDE ! :cheer: :cheer:

- I suppose IO is investigating officer ? Is he with the police or with your insurance ?

IO = investigating officer. in my case is TP=traffic police.

normal police is also IO. as u know our police is classfied under diff department. technically they r 1 big family, however their work is not related to each other. eg, traffic accident wont be handled by normal police, they fw to tp.

Is it a bias against bikers ?

i'm not saying all bikers, but they r bias againt certain type of ppl. perhaps they dont like fred's look, look like ganster :cheeky:

all bikers last time were gansters. thus some ppl now still bias against us. once bikers form a group, police keep a high alert also. that's why sbf is showing police & public we r not gansters.

- Arthur : what were you wearing that only got you scratches when you fell ? Because you usually don;t wear protective gear, do you ? Were you wearing gloves ? Did it help ?

thin raincoat only :cheeky:

1) that guy is turning at low speed, i mentioned it not those "fast & furious" type of turn.

2) my leg was not clamped. crash bar created a gap, cos i recall he hit exact center side of my bike. either i was lucky or my aim was good :cheeky: (he did not swerve, went right thru me, so was a bit predictable)

3) i was thrown out

- You have to wait for the police report results to be able to claim, so to be able to repair the bike, is that correct ? Or you can start the repairs and pay and then get the money back from the insurance ?

workshop will repair 1st. claims take very long depend on situation. my last accident took more than 1yr not yet settle.

depend on what situation, say a 50-50 case, workshop will help u repair, but u need to fork out 50% repairs. workshop will absorb the 50% until verdict. however if ur 50% turns out 20%, u need to top up 30% cost. similar to a 100% case, workshop will absorb all repairs. however if verdit come against me or judge somehow award me 0%, i have to return the workshop 100% repair cost.

lawyers earn by lawyer-insurance fee, i think they call it party-to-party or similar + x% of ur claim

workshop earn by parts & labour. usually they jack up the parts cost, to a resonable range.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

m'sia custom toll using touch & go card. dont know if the card can be reused or can pay cash or not. if not on the spot can buy t&g card. RM$10 with RM$5 value.

they not going fast, even on expressway, n as a group much safer. just stick together, we'll take care of each other. :)
