wads's ur reason for selling it off?

the side box restrict me from squeeze thru traffic lor.. my previous box is 'smaller' than my handlebar length but Givi box is almost same or slightly bigger depend on how u install it. but the good thing about Givi box, can detach when u dun wanna use it.. maybe if u go upnorth on a trip, it comes in handy.

4 stroke piston jam is most probably due to lack of engine oil lubrication.

meaning....the amount of engine oil is lesser than what is recommended? or there were leakage but the rider just ignore and there's where the reduce in quantity of the engine oil?

could be the wrong grade, the wrong type.. quantity is unlikely.. unless you top up way too much.

tony, could also be piston seal leak right? engine oil leak into combustion chamber and cos temp to rise as engine oil burns hotter than petrol. maybe temporary increase in power but cause piston to be deformed and one day jam

I guess... but this is applicable to excavators and heavy plants.. dunno if applicable to motorbikes

wrong.

jam is usually cos by not frequently changing the EO. the unseen metal fragments in the oil will get stuck slowly into the rings then the piston jams.

Another possibility is the amount of EO is not enuff.

small leaks wun mount to jam a piston so ez la. 1 small leak give u everyday leak oso no more than 50ml in 1-2 months.

Seal leak only will have slight loss of power due to leakage from combustion and of cos abit of EO. nothing to do wif heat.

Piston oso jam when the block is inadequently cooled. so those looking forward for long trips pls note.

Leakage like i said unlikely cause.

most of the time if the EO is not enuff the first sign is the clutch system. they will give u weird sounds then the engine will fail due to little lubrication and heat.

then the piston will kiss u goodbye~

new p200s; when engine braking will have some backfiring sounds from the exhaust. wavy thinks default fuel-to-air ratio is slightly rich on fuel; the mechanic took a couple of seconds to tap my engine in a couple of places, fixed it.

yeah i beat a red light apparently while on my pizza hut wave, i have no idea how it happened but i'll wait for the report to come. meanwhile i grip my throttle with white knuckles as i crawl the left lanes! i made a sticker; will post pics later lol.

also i changed the stock sprocket of 38 teeth to 33. pickup i didn't really find to be smoother; if anything, at low revs the bike wobbles slightly. however, higher revs and speeds the ride is considerably smoother, mm. previously i changed gears at rpm 4 as i found it most conducive to the smoothest riding, now it's 4.5. 80kph was reached at 6rpm, now it's 5.1rpm. 6rpm gets me to 90kph. gosh it's gonna be hard conforming to speed limits with this sprocket oh no

finally selling my stock sprocket 38 teeth for.. $15? if that's reasonable. 1.5k km on it only

I think go JB don't really need to worry much about how fast you go, most people pump at the station which is very near the jb customs? no need to worry la! i just went on sunday! first time also! Just got my pulsar and loving it! Hope to meet you guys during the next meet up! or hopefully the DIY session! :)

we will be more than happy to meet up with you Petrified :thumb:

Will we be petrified if we meet up with him? :cheeky:

yup get quote from UM. slighly less than 7k..izzit because of the coe differences? btw will coe decrease if i keep waiting? :p

Bro Wavy, so far is there any problem wit the bike?

Chances are slim..

problem? nothing much.. new bikes sure got parts that need running in.. im sure other new bikes also get a bit of screeching of the brakes due to the new uneven surface.. a bit of braking will rid it.. or get the mechanic to sand it down for u for free.

best to do your own pre-ride check before u leave.. but u can always go back to UM to have them fix up any discomfort. Provin got his bike abt the same time as me.. never heard any problem from him also.

yup price diff is becos of COE.. cos my COE that time was 1.4k.. now its 1.5+ right? COE might go up and might drop.. but seeing the economy now.. chances are...

u might wanna ask the seniors like Nemesis or Suvespa to accompany u to get your bike. i'm sure they will help if they are available :cheeky:

arlow.. when i buy already 1.5K+ nw heard is 1.8K+

Sorry..nope :nono: ... but anyway I'm everybody's friend right? ::nobuaya:

ah-mi.. running in first 1000km should keep to less than 70km/h

1001 to 2000 km should keep below 80km/h

if u strictly follow manual then minus 5 km/h on each of the above

You never read the manual meh?

Never go above 70km/h before you click 5000 ... if you want your engine life span longer... better be slow than be sorry later.

Like it or not ... end of the day it is you yourself who will have a hole in the pocket.

For me.... after the long wait... haha I'm enjoying the wind hitting my face, while hearing my soothing engine sound and a smooth cruising flow of my P200.

What can I say more... not a perfect bike but I'm enjoying every time riding on it .... and as OPTIMUS PRIME would say .... "Autobots transform and roll out"

i have this weird problem just now. was out on my normal runs. then suddenly, my bike sputters like dying off. when throttle, still dying but after 4+rpm, like normal. then i just whack throttle slowly. still same problem. play around with the fuel/off/reserve gauge. one by one, whack throttle slowly. then, poof!! ok liao!

i wonder why that can happen. if petrol overload to carburator, i was still doing my normal runs before that. if never warm up, i was already out for more than 4 hours. anyone care to speculate why it happen? but now, ok already.

btw, is it me or is my bike having more vibrations and i can feel more bumps on the road now?

Posted

this happen to me quite a few times b4.. i think it is becos nv warm up the bike long enough.

enlighten me if i'm wrong
