I have a question for everybody who has a P180 UG1,2, 3 or 4. When you fill fresh oil of 1L, does it reach the max level of the EO level indicator? When I filled last time I noticed 1L was below the min mark of my UG2. I have bought an extra bottle of Mobil Mineral oil just for topping up.

yeh, as @alvinyansg mentioned.. some where around the middle..

but for some reason my eo goes low after sometime.. no leaking what so ever... so i just top up a lil..

oren: u lube and clean ur chain every single day even when u installing diyoiler?

uncle mj: how often u order sinnobs? and when do u know urs is dying and need a change?

the oiler is for the ease of lubing your chain

you can lube while riding instead of have to stop, put on main stand and lube

the interval is stated in the manual

500km

but each have their own mileage to lube their chain

sinnob can last up to 40,000km depending on how you take care of your chain and sprocs...

chain tighten until cannot tighten then will be time to change

for sprocs look out for the wear and tear on the sproc teeth...

yours should be in very good condition considering kira installed it less than 2 months when he sold the bike to you...

engine cooled down?

front wheel on touching the floor?

flat and even floor?

1L of EO for 180 will be in the middle near the full mark...

Yeah, all the of the above. But I had drained out the used EO completely untill the last drop and hence I think it was low.

until last drop?

means that you will need to top up 1.1-1.2L if it is totally dry

that is only when you need to overhual the bike

By until last drop I meant, I made sure all the used EO got drained out completely. I waited for about 5-10 mins and bent the bike on both sides, thats the only way to ensure that all EO comes out. I guess you are right, in that case need to top up 1.2L

one thing to take note! do not trust the indicator on your bike. cos my battery flat last week and i couldnt event start my bike and the battery indicator did not even appear. had to push start then can. after changing the batteries, can electric start like normal. :)

oh ya, theres this problem that i faced while riding - while cruising ard 90+km/hr at gear 5, the gear suddenly changed to gear 4 by itself and of course, the rev suddenly rocketed. this happens one in a while. anyone on the same boat as me?

what's your mileage at present?

check your clutch cable condition and also your clutch free play ... free play on manual stated 2-3mm but individual bike go for your feel.

When your last eo intervals? ...

There are debates out there concerning gear 5th slippage and is is not only bajaj issue ... most bikes have that 5th gear problems.

Claims varies by individuals ... finger pointing to clutch cable, clutch plates, eo and etc ...

So for your case do check your bike on these for now ...

I'm no expert here do bring back to UM to rectify if the problem surface again.

P200 manual:

Clutch Play : Adjust 2-3mm : Clean 0r Repalce every 2500km

Since manual stated to clean Centrifugal Filter and Strainer every 10000km, do also check your clutch plates during this period! .. save labour cost !!

My thoughts only! .. cheers!!

What do you call the strainer? Is it inside the centrifugal filter?

If that's it then then UM found out that my bike didn't have it... It was missing from the filter and the mech had to add it ! You'd think it's the kind of thing that would be essential..I was really puzzled that it was missing, I'm glad Ah Teck noticed it. Me, I was too busy being amazed by the dirt found inside the filter. (dirt or carbon or whatever)

oren: u lube and clean ur chain every single day even when u installing diyoiler?

No I don't. I lube the chain every 300km and if I forget, every 500km.

I lube it after washing the bike if it needs it. I lube it after riding in heavy rain or puddles. Basically, I try not to let the chain go dry.

Now that the DIY is installed (yaye !!), like Alvin said, all I have to do is open the valve from time to time. It will be very useful on the trip if I ride 300-500km daily: it will be good to have this easy and convenient way of lubricating the chain.

I will take with me the scotoiler bottle (500mL) and if it runs out, I'll use EO. That way I don't have to carry an extra can of chain lube and I'll only lube the chain using the oiler.

Ok I see thanks - have it on my photos as well, it's that little white thing right ? Didn't clean it this time.

Do you have photos of it dismounted from the bike ? How dirty is it ?

I'll have to wait for the next oil change - since I'll be outside SG, I'm not sure I want some random shop to open that gasket :shy:
