Thx for de reply... I getting new one.. erm... Ytd UM told me they only left last P200.. i m now considering to buy it soon b4 it is sold out... but slightly worry abt its parts availability since it is OFP.. I know P180 FC is gd, but got mix comment abt the FC of P200... Any P200 owner can share their avg FC?

Thx once again.. =)

Hi and welcome,

This is the only place where you can find reliable info on the Pulsar, by people who are riding the bike, and some for a few years. Anything else you "hear" elsewhere can sometimes be BS.

I have a (1.5 year old) P200, and managed to do 900km on a full tank, with some spare left in my reserve. FC on P200 is excellent, it all comes down to these variables:

- riding style

- average riding speed

- load on the bike (pillion, boxes etc)

- tyres

- bike condition

These will influence your FC.

On average you can expect an FC of 40km/L. Some here average at 45-50km/L. Some only 35km/L. Again, we all have different variables for the factors listed above and that's what explains the range in FC.

Forget to share what happened to me and my bike at UM today.

1) jacky was the one who did everything for my bike.

2) i told him the cone bearing still didnt seem right and he checked and assured something was wrong.

3) i told him about my fuel gauge being inaccurate he checked and assured it was spoilt and wanted to check whether beyond repair.

4) he emptied my tank and removed my fuel tank. =( kinda heartbreaking to see my bike being striped naked like that.

5) checked my cone bearing, rusted plus abit out of shape. changed a new pair for me. under warranty. smiles =)

6) checked my fuel gauge, spoilt, change new one for me. under warranty again. double smiles! =)

7) change of engine oil to full synthetic.

8) tightened chains, lubed chain, basic stuff.

9) just as i thought everything was done,

jacky asked me, how do u off ur signal after signal, i push the signal switch to the left,

he asked, " cannot auto-cancel ah? "

i was like, "huh?"

he checked the magnet for the sensor autocancel spoilt, change one for me. UNDER WARRANTY AGAIN! smiling with tears =`)

anyway, spent around 4 hours there till shop close but was happy. hahaha. found out jacky stay near my msia house only!

maybe he can be my private mechanic on sundays. HAHAHA.

had a great day! =)

Ddn't you buy yours brand new ?

Mine also cant auto cancel :/ if need to change how much ah? and fuel gauge being inaccurate meaning that it doesnt follow how much it dips after a certain mileage? my fuel gauge starts dropping after 280km and starts dropping faster than the first drop. does it mean my fuel gauge also inaccurate?

The fuel gauge is not precise on our bikes. It will show full tank for the first 250-300km then drop mid way or below. It will drop again the next 100 or 200km. Sometimes it drops fast but you still have lots of mileage to do.

A good indicator is the red light on your dashboard. When it lights up, note the mileage and calculate how

Many kms you can do before the tank is empty (use one of the two tripmeters).

Don't worry, when the tank empties you feel it even when riding: the bike feels like it's getting out of air, it chokes a bit and will not respond if you open the throttle to accelerate. It will slow down : it's time to stop and turn the tank lever to the RESERVE position. Your reserve is about 2L so depending on your FC, it should give you 60 to 100km to ride.

After a couple of tanks monitoring how the fuel gauge and red light are reacting to the distance and petrol you know you have, you will be able to translate pretty accurately what the gauge is saying.

Inaccurate gauge does not mean it's spoilt or needs to be changed. If it doesn't work at all then yeah, have it checked. But if it's indicating changes , just not accurately, then that's "normal" on Pulsars.

For the auto cancel, could be that it's just not fixed properly. If the sensor is not aligned correctly between the forks it doesn't transmit and you might think it's broken when really you just need to adjust it. If you know where it is then you can do it yourself, if not, just bring the bike to UM and watch them do it - they will change it if indeed its broken.

Zawu. I think urs is okay. When i bought my bike new it was also like this. For me accurate is like i pump full tank filled to the brim but fuel gauge shows 2-3 bars missing. Then after going to around 400km+, red light comes on already. But previously always 600 or so then only red light on

Haha. Yeap got it brand new. But i guess its luck huh.

Jacky very funny. I asked him. It's impossible for the cone bearing to rust in such a short time right? He said. In this world, there are alot of impossible stuff that happened

for the signal auto cancel, the switch is located just behind the number plate metal under your head fairing...

for the fuel, learn how to gauge without seeing the bars...

then you will be more prepared...
