I absolutely agree with what you say:"if you want to bring in 1 piece as test to see and try to fit it, and for UM to have a look, I'm happy to pay for it. If it doesn't work out (which I doubt since it will be made for our rims and bikes), I'll figure out how to sell it or sell the parts. If it fits and all is good, someone here can have it installed on their bike and pay me - or you keep it for me until I come back and I'll have it fitted on my bike. Let me know if this is an interesting option for you or if you prefer that we do a mass order all together at once."

 

If the crucial components are available, by hook or by crook I will make it happen. Even if it's not legal, I can ride with it for 1 year since my inspection starts only the next year.

Thanks for the info. Like I said I am not that familiar with OEM market in SG and definitely not familiar with the rules and regulations. I appreciate the infomation about the aftermarket legal exhaust.

 

Please do not misunderstand about the calipers. It's not about having big or small ones, it's about having the right-sized ones for the right applications. Also, thanks for the information about the mods available to improve braking performance for the moment.

haha charlton! see that u got a new bike. me too got myself a new P180 this year june just two days after i got my license. hahaha. yea man. running in do suck sometimes but i just took the bike to the expressway anyway. hehehe. just follow behind those big trucks. anyway u will love the bike more after u are done running in with it! super smooth!

Dammit..! Only manage to get 400km after 2 days of run-in.. All no thanks to the rain.. Btw, any recommendation for tyres..? This stock tyres damn scary..!

How much is the fz16 new ? She actually like the fz16 but now she keeps talking about the duke, every minute shows me photos of it on her phone Reminds me of me and Pulsar haha

Use this period of time to get used to handling it's weight and to learn new routes It will be over soon, if you don't use the bike much during the week, take it on long rides during the WE.

Already 400km???!!! You live in malacca?

 

Bridgestone Battlax: expensive but absolutely 200% reliable. It's like they have tiny strong hands that grip the road!

The tyres MJ just hot are great too and less expensive (check 3-4 pages back please). Btw MJ, the tyres look awesome, I love the design!

Fz16 machine price is 5k+ excluding Coe etc.

Duke 200 won't be here till 2012.

Thanks mobile! Ok so fz16 price is more reasonable. 2012 might not be too late seeing how long it took her to get her license started.. But now she is more motivated because she wants her own bike and cannot tahan being a Pillionette anymore haha

With the current q in learning and TP date, it might be mid 2012 on her first attempt. She will be spoilt for choices as there are more updates to new 2b bikes.

Mobil1 full syn - $18 (quoted $19)

chain lube - $7 (quoted $10)

Vara125 is pretty good. I was looking for one earlier too!

 

Most important is she needs to be able to handle the height when stopping in traffic espcially ebraking. Otherwise Pillionette will enjoy more touring trips!

it's not that difficult to keep your ride in tip top condition ... make time available and invest few cleaning products .. it's not that expensive though..

 

with passion and love .. not too kiasu lah .... your bike will maintain throughout the years ... like always said ...

 

it's the Rider Problem and not the Bike Problem !!

while my nephew got the breakdown around $16 a bottle cos he bought 4 bottles with 1 air filter for his S4 ... good deal!!!

 

btw .. wat chain lube you got there? ...

1: car shampoo to wash

2: spray and shine if you are busy or lazy

3: wax if your bike still new

4: polish and wax if surface starts to rough and faded

5: maxima sc1 or similar for exterior like plastic, rubber and even engine body

6: wd40 or similar to spray all the metal surfaces, bolts and nuts, moving parts, and electricals (do avoid the bearings area)

7: chain lube or oil for chain after washing or clean

 

it does not be all in order .. use where necessary

 

on how to do ... kopi session i will share more!!! ...

Oren after you have tried Pulsar 200, you will be disappointed with the pick up and performance of the V-twin. Needs to be revved hard to budge. The rpm is always running at 7-9k for optimal power. Redline is at 11k.
