Singapore Bajaj Team DIY Session (Hazard Light)

As there is a growing number of new member, It time for a next DIY session for hazard. Hazard is a essential thing we need on the road. the wiring is simple and yet doesn't void the warranty of the bike as no orignal cable is being touched.

 

For our beloved Pulsar, Hazard light that common done by other workshop, need to on the switch followed by signal light inorder to activate the hazard light. which is not ideal in any way. The one that we'll be installing is direct. Hazard light can be activate thru only one switch.

 

We need to know how many member want to fix this hazard light inorder to confirm the date and location. Also, our R&D need to go for purchase the part needed. P180 and P200 is welcome.

 

This is a non-profit DIY session. The aim is to equip our pulsar to have a better safety equipment when on the road.

Dear all,

I think we need to come to a compromise.

It is not ez to organise a timing which everyone is free to attend.

However, we need to buy the stuff needed for each bike which costs abt 20 bux per bike.

please do not put ur name and see the timing unsuitable n withdraw ur name. it will be hard for the organising committee to purchase the items as if u suddenly back out, the stuff bought will be gone to waste or left in the corner of someone's room.

I hope all can come to a decision whether the set timing is suitable. if not nemesis pls change to a better date that all if not most can attend.

Those that cannot attend can then approach Solar/nemesis to fix a personal appt to fix up the needed.

I think tis is the best solution. Anyone has any gd idea pls post for discussion as well.

I think u guys have mixed up DIY and installation.

DIY is doing it yourself -> Solar will teach u all how to do it and the installation will be by yourselves.

Installation is the part or equipment being installed by others -> u juz wait see and test.

 

DIY is Free... Installation is not.

 

There are going to be at least 15 bikes that are coming so i forsee DIY will drag til late. 12pm i think oso can one la.

 

i mean can guide me 1st in completing the DIY then i can go back work if i come at 11am. But if u mention it will drag i'm scare i cannot siam work for that long leh... But if i come after work then worst monday morning i still work.

Just came back after JB topup, Find out that there a major changes in JB custom...

Regarding the exit to singapore, i still not sure cause i still use the old way back... maybe they will change to the place where we exit to Jb (from SG)

 

BTW, petrol price for shell now is at RM 1.90

after seeing d map, i feel entirely unhappy with it. although i havent check out d new customs yet, d route on d map looks ridiculous. not only is it far, but we need to make a long u-turn just to change our money or whoever wants to go to city square. i was wondering... wat were they thinking....

unfortunately for drivers, they will have to use malaysians touch n go card, similar to our cashcard for toll. cash is not accepted. drivers need to prepare themselves b4 16 dec which it will be fully operational.

so after 2 weeks of ownership of my p180 UG3 heres a couple of minor niggles i've encountered

 

1) in the morning or after parking my bike for over 6-7hours; i start my bike and the engine will die a couple of times. Not sure why, but i think its got to do with the carb settings. I;ve never ouched the carb before.

 

2) on 1st gear while moving off the engine will cut off sometimes; trust me i'm not that lousy in half-clutch. I think theres a technique for this bike, you can't really do a minimum throttle while releasing the clutch. Usually to prevent the bike from stalling/engine cut off i have to throttle a little bit more and then release the clutch. It just gets frustrating when the bike stalls/engine cuts off because it can be embarassing sometimes.

 

So anyone got any remedies for my problems? Or should i just go back to UM. They gave me a 1 month warranty (written in the sales agreement).

your problems are the norm rather than the exception; the engine is too cold to sustain itself and can't warm itself up, it needs us to bring it its coffee (read: rev) for about 30-45s for new bikes before it idles steady. the second problem is a result of moving off before the engine is fully warmed up; post-warm up, the problem will be encounted a lot less. nothing else that can be done i think.
