In the end is up to u... imho, i think i will still keep the bike. keep the car for work n travelling so on. bike to keep u in balanced state of finance etc sat or sun go out alone or whatever.

 

My fren bought a car not long ago too. now he is finding the upkeep too ex and is looking for a bike. so dun be like him. try to have both at the moment then decide if u really 1 2 depend solely on the 4 wheels cos rmb... sinkapore everyday everywhere oso jam hahahaha.

 

maybe u can consider getting an OPC

then normal weekdays u can ride then weekends can drive

the overall cost also not as high as a normal plate car

well i have recently bought a car for work and thus was thinking of selling off my beloved pulsar 180 analog speedo.

used it for 16mths... 2nd owner.. this coming sept ( next mth ) fully paid... 3years FBA plate

Any bro can suggest if i should sell it or keep it ( maybe will ride once a week )

How much should i sell it for ah ?

 

Condition :

Visual = 6.5/10 due to some scratches and rusty exhust pipe. however still very nice looking to me. ( besides ugly big box )

engine = 8/10 every mth service only problem is O-ring leaking as per almost all other pulsar ...

FC still high 500 + 600 full tank.

80 ~ 90 km/h no problem or loud noise..

if fuel consumption is your main concern, hoot a honda jazz or fit.

if sedan is your choice of a car, can hoot hyundai avante.. hottest selling sedan at the moment.

if got money to burn, lamborgini liao..

i disagree leh.. OPC really quite a pain in the butt.

 

my brother owns one now.. everytime he urgently needs to use the car, he has to tear a $20 coupon for peak hour use. we calculated the normal expenses of the OPC.. its only worth it if you strictly stick to driving in off-peak hours.

 

once you start the habit of tearing coupons.. it will end up costing more than a normal plate car.

 

interesting fact, if you don't buy a car and ride a cab for every single journey, you will still save as compared to buying a car. but slightly less convenient.

FYI, I am having both a car and a bike together. As I got a very young daughter, I would definetly require a car to bring my family out often... I am not sure of your situation. For me...

1.) I would prefer riding to driving most of the time when I am alone...(even in the hot afternoon sun)

2.) The petrol consumption for a car is often way too costly for frequent travelling...(not sure for ur choice of car... but i regretted buying an SUV that burns petrol at 8-9km/l)

3.) Even disregarding petrol consumption... Thinking of the servicing fees after u travel... Keep in mind that ur bike mentality of servicing for $20/+- is no longer applicable... at least $200 (unless u taking small small car..)

4.) by keeping a bike with you... You can join us for road trip as well...

5.) It won't cost u much to leave ur bike lying at the carpark too..

6.) After u get used to how nice ur bike managed to move about in a traffic jam... U will find it very frustrating to drive...

7.) a car travelling time will always be longer than a bike travelling time.. (I overtake Ferrari and Lamborghini many many time before leh...) Who say expensive sports car r fast... they can't even see my pulsar tail lights moment after i over take them...

i tink OPC is very very much restricted.. weekdays before and after 7am/pm.. weekends sat after 2-3pm or so.. if not tear $20.. tink reali quite inconvenient and abit sian also.. =P

FYI i bought a Hyundai i30 alr.. i have been driving close to 2 mths... and only took my bike out bout 4 times... so a bit wasted.

but also a bit hard pain to sell..

U may try Planet or First Motor at Ubi. But do pls take note that from wat i know.... ALL motor shop that claims that they are able to service Pulsar bike one can only assist u in changing spark plug or engine oil... for parts and massive maintainance... U r still advise to return to Universal motor. Or maybe u may contact our boss NEMESIS. He may be able to help u regarding maintainance issue... Boss contact number are everywhere in this thread...

 

Thanks bro! I think I'll stick to Universal eventhough I find some of their prices to be ridiculously high. Guess I can't complain until another workshop comes up specializing in Pulsar.

The figures in front still contribute to the thickness.

Jazz n fit and i30 are out for me... cos no boot.

Avante i seriously considering BUT 1.6L leh i heard the FC is good but i only afraid of the reliability which Hyundai doesn't really have yet i guess compared to japanese brands.

in the end i think back n look thru. treat the car as a transportation tool to wk. bike can always pack in the corner of the carpark... after all. RD tax only 55 bux per yr 3rd party oso max 200+ per yr. season parking 15bux per month if u cover free even! max oso give u to spend $500 1 yr to have the bike considering if u have fully paid it.

Sat n sun if u need to go out use it. if use car forget it. orchard rd on sat n sun r jam pack.

think of the positive side if u keep a bike to back up on ur transport. not the amount to be spend cos i think pulsar maintenance is really pinch of salt compared to going everywhere in ur car.

i agree with u. OPC is for those permanent working night or 12 shifts that do not need to travel during peak hrs. which is little.

if u notice the custom oso jams at 3pm onwards cos OPC all chiong go in msia.

i wun buy OPC la. the most i will buy QQ normal plate if budget constrain.. hahahahaha

btw, i think u mistaken... the I30 is very big... sits comfortably 3 in the back.

boot can place 3 golf bag.. its deep and wide ...
