I'm also worried that my rear break isn't really powerful enough' date=' is that normal ? I think it was responding much better before, now I press down the brake with my foot all the way, 1st gear and I can still move - I noticed it today, only once so I'm not really sure.. Maybe I'm just being paranoiac over little things ![/quote']

i found out that UM likes to adjust our rear brake pedal till quite low as in we have to step almost all the way then will be able to feel the braking

you can ask the mech to adjust the brake pedal for you

anyone still remember after you got ur licence, how is e feeling liike when you first enter into e expressway ?

right after my TP test at SSDC, they asked who wanted to go for guided expressway riding. some of the school bikes, they tie p-plate over the L-plate, then got instructors to escort us onto the expressway in formation. all i could remember was "tmdf, what speed? 80 or 90?" cuz the speedo was vibrating so hard that can't see s***. lousy school bikes. haha.

Thanks everyone for adding comments for the BTMO, I went with your suggestions and updated the timing.

MJ I agree the route you suggested is nice :thumb:

Thanks Orlen for the info on the clutch, it does seem like it's indeed getting just in place and smoother but it's not getting more loose so you're probably right. But I'll drop by UM this Saturday if I can to have them check it.

I'm also worried that my rear break isn't really powerful enough, is that normal ? the rear brake can be adjusted by yourself if you feel up to it. the linkage rod connected just under the drum. where the rod connects to the arm-attached to the drum, there's a nut screwed on to the rod. push the arm (not the rod) forwards, then turn the nut clockwise to advance it forwards on the threaded linkage rod. as you use the rear brake, you'll periodically need to "tighten" that nut as the drum wears out. as long as the pointer on the arm remains within the usable range on the stamped mark on the drum. watch the UM mechs, then DIY next time. :D

i found out that UM likes to adjust our rear brake pedal till quite low as in we have to step almost all the way then will be able to feel the braking

the one time, they adjusted my brake pedal damned high, which was nice of them la. but damned cramp for me!

for the btmo, will check with you guys when you're in the thomson area. will be camping at home, mugging, exams are approaching.

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

I'm not very sure but symptoms maybe due to

1.. tyre wear due to imbalance .. check the pattern wear to confirm

2.. wheel bearing .. at main stand grab the tyre and shake it front and back to feel if it loose .. (not always it can be obvious though)

3 .. axle pinion bearing ... need to go UM or your preference workshop

4.. 5th gear problem .. P180 currently common problem

wise to go UM and rectify the problem... good luck :cheeky:

btw .. we invite you to our BTMO .. do join us and if you can't make it the whole event just pop by will do...hehe

i recomend genuine parts ESPCIALLY PARTS RELATED TO THE ENGINE. sure, UM sells their parts at higher prices, compared to other countries like indonesia which sells cheaper, but its for d sake of the engine. if u want to keep dis bike for long, den take my word for it. if u wana overhaul, do it in sg, dun think just bcos jb' s services r cheap, youd go for dat. ive had my exp doing it in jb. im not saying its bad, however we're talking about BAJAJ here, where its not recognised in m'sia eventhough it uses kawasaki tech. Pulsar in Indonesia is like Super4 in sg, though some pple wont realise it. if u collect all of d super4s in sg, i think it cant match d number of pulsars in indonesia. i maybe wrong. their parts r sold cheap n evrywhere in indoensia. so my point is kids, overhaul in sg, evernthough is exp n takes time , but its d most safest.

last ,month i just did my overhaul n it costs me more than $800. some had it worse. however, im satisfied now dat d performance is way beter den wen i first got dis bike.

Thks for the advise. Currently fitted with fresh tyres after gotten the bike from private. Realise when i clutch in 1st gear with main stand, the rear tyre continue to turn. Not too sure izzit due to clutch housing wear and tear that cause the whirring sound at 5th gear. If it's due to gear box then die liao.. haha.. Haben had chance to go bike shop lately. Haiz.. But then, 800 bucks for overhaulling is way too much for small bike. What did u do then? What are the symptom before overhaulling?
