NEED HELP...

i changed my box to a Givi E450 with brake light

but i can't get my brake light on the box to work

i tried tapping it as the same as my old zeus box but its not working

any idea how to get it working?

just use a multimeter to check e continuity n voltage to cfm...

planning to use multimeter to check but was rushing for time

now just reached home after watching Iron Man 2

took bus cos just now raining

2ml will go check

but the brake light connection is different from my old zeus box

the mechanism is like this

http://www.giviusa.com/cases/optionals/E94

the wiring is only till the base plate

then from the base plate onwards is all like contact switches liao

need all to contact then should light up

but i contacted all and tapped from the same point as my old box still no light:cry::cry:

Finally...

brakelight on my box working liao

1st when i started up my bike the light is on but very dim and flickering

cos ytd i left the wire inside tapped in the old config as my zeus box

when i throttle up the light became steady but when brake it went off

tested the continuity and everything is ok

then i just tried and swapped the wire to blue tap to red and red tap to blue

woah la

it works like a charm

then stripped the wired again and re-confirm

and its working now :cheeky::cheeky:

Cookie monster: change trottle cable? no problem.

i recomend u guys get d NGK iridium CR9EIX for ur left(if u sit n face the handle bar) plug, cost around $15. use NGK iridium CR9EGP on ur right. however, CR9EGP is hard to find. ive been using CR9EIX 4 a day n find d performance improved.

y a no. 9 not a no.8?

if u cant find 9, 8 olso can. either way, our bike wont self destruct anywayz.

yes it wun destruct but the no. is for heat purposes.

so it still does make a diff using the correct no.

Truely what ever you tried with , it comes back to the rider own perception.

some will happy and some will not happy .. but nevertheless it's your own money and own bike wat ... who care rite? ...:cheeky:

For those who have upgraded wif the racing coils and cdi booster and even racing cdi aftermarket, yes we thus encourage you to try NGK Iridium and Platinum spark plug.

I too now using the said spark plug for trial and feel.

I even wanted to go for Dyno Test but was not encourage by HKL boss stated that our bike might can't take the full load during the test since they focus more to bigger engine.

Yes I do accepted his explanation since my Indon friend did try at full load at Dyno and suffered engine failure but did manage to have figures and facts to the extreme that he have to rebored the whole engine.

Unless I have the $$$$ too, i sure don't care and will go for test to see the real results with facts and figures.

Btw.. if your bike are not equip with any enhancement accessories you can still try Iridium or Platinum to feel any difference from our stock at UM which currently supply copper spark plug CPR6ea-9. :cheeky:

Here previous I did posted my Indon friend's emailed to me and share with you and below is the continuition of my discussion with him ... and it's just my and his perceptions ...

"My Pegasus burst 25.2 HP and around 17 lb-ft Torque on last DYNO-test if I recall (forget where did I save the files),...

...Hmm, I mentioned that Pegasus' engine burst it's maximum power at 8000 RPM, and it's maximum torque at 6500 RPM. It does help when I am touring with group, I keep on riding at 6000 RPM without fear to be left behind. My mechanic tried Pegasus top speed once on current spec, it reached 129kmph @9500rpm and keep going up, short after it ended on engine failure. hahahaha

Yes, I encourage you to try NGK. CR9EIX are Iridiums, and CR9EGP are Platinum. Platinum are colder than Iridiums, but has higher resistancy.

The Splitfire TP430C stands for Triple Platinum, they are good ones too. We use sparkplugs according to their role.

Pulsar's spark plugs work on different task.

(mj- sad to confirm that USA has stop production of Splitfire spark plug)

The left one ignites from engine start to rpm limit, this is the main spark plugs that run fuel combustion inside the cylinder. So it should be given a sparkplugs that has high electricity conductivity and low resistancy for better ignition. This is Iridium role.

The right one ignites from 2000 rpm to 6500 rpm, that is mainly helping the combustion on low-mid rpm range as it ignites together with the left one. So it should be given a cold sparkplugs, spark plugs that has higher temperature level, and higher durability. This is Platinum role.

You may use other combination, or even identical to both of them.

We have tried a lot of spark plugs combinations, and we concluded those two are the best pair, besides the price are more affordable.

About the piggyback you use, is it a piggyback (a device that can overides CDI maps) or a CDI booster? As those two has different use. CDI boosters give more current to stock CDI, and stabilize its voltage. While piggybacks overides CDI mapping to adjust with the ignition timing. Or maybe it works as both? Yes, if you want your racing coils to be in its top performance, it is recommended to use an aftermarket CDI which has higher current, stable voltage, and an easy mapping tools (to adjust the ignition timing properly).

If you are still unsatisfied after sparkplugs-coils-CDI upgrade combination, maybe you should consider a Jetted Carburetors (Pulsar's is a vacuum one)

Yes, I encourage you to try Sinnob if you can afford it."

last I posted... just for recap

"For spark plugs, I suggest you to find any NGK. The best match for pulsar right spark plug is NGK CR9EGP, that is a resistance spark plug with high level temp. Really useful for low burn, which is exactly what we need because Pulsar's right spark plugs burn from 2000 to 6500rpm. If NGK CR9EGP is hard to find, you can use NGK CR8EGP, it is just has slight lower temp level.

For the left one, NGK CR9EIX is the best, yes, it is Iridium. Iridium are a very good electricity conductors, and has very high temp resistancy. It is needed because Pulsar's left spark plugs burn from engine start to rpm limit. If CR9EIX is hard to find, you can use CR8EIX which is one step lower temp level.

Another spark plug brands that is known to have good performance for pulsar is Splitfire TP430C.

Don't use just any iridium spark plugs, cause not only material but also construction and built quality of the plugs affect its performance. Combined with the right coils, the spark plugs should do wonder. I'm using NGK on both sides with Protec V3 with groundstrap, and I'm forced to adjust carburetor's main jet and slow jet for three steps higher. That means its now burning with better combustion inside."

oh .. btw Gaban at Ah Boy Platinum CR8EGP available and price is $9 each..but sadly forget to ask Iridium price to compare

if you get the plug do ask them the price .. who noes it might be cheaper hahaha.

Hi im newbie Class 2B holder, am deciding btw a Pulsar180 (o6 model) -vs- Phantom 200cc:

Kindly advise reviews from SBF-ians on Bajaj bikes:

- Bajaj bike, Made in India, has 1 sole distr in SG, so maintenance is higher due to monopoly (like daelim)

- After 3000km, engine sometimes dies on road. Have to manual restart

- Parts used are 'not tt gd', as most r made in India & 'less premium" compared to low end Honda/ Jap bikes

End of day, am keen to buy 2nd hand Pulsar 180, seems quite fuel efficient, but i worry of a M.I.India bike, and recurring repairs after 3000km..

Also wads a gd price to buy a 06 Reg Pulsar 180, mil 2000km, COE til 2016, mostly stock?

Any advise will be most appreciated. thks

first of all, welcome to the forum and the world of biking:angel::angel:.

secondly, im not suprise u got dis in4 from someone. i'll be frank wif u, yes, the parts pricing is slightly exp due to the 'monopoly'. however, THE BIKE ITSELF is a good bike. dun think india parts are no good. all bikes are not perfect. i dun like the typical "exp and hard to get parts, so the bike is no good" thinking. all bikes has pros n cons.

i give u one example, take S4, the parts r affordable, and more popular here correct? cant deny it. however, in india and indonesia, bajaj is more well known than S4. they have their own specialised engineers and mechanics too. and if u compare the no. of S4 here and the no. of pulsar in india and indonesia, i tell u, S4 cant beat them, for they have LEGIONS and BATTALIONS of riders riding pulsar. no joke. so diff countires have their own special bikes.

u will exp prob wen u get a bike along d way, however, dats a learning curve. ive used dis bike for almost 3 years had gone through S-H-I-T n still riding it. so my point is, think dis through. however if u realy want to get a pulsar, den yes, i WILL recomend u cos the fc is pretty damn gd. get a 2nd hand or third hand if u want. bring someone who knows abt pulsar or any other bike along wif u. hope dis long and boring lecture helps.:angel:

cheers bro!!!::thumb::thumb::thumb:

Hi,

welcome to the biking world

seeing from what you type i think you got the info from someone who does not own or ride a pulsar before

for the maintenance part as long as you do your regular servicing and take good care of your bike i don't think i will become a problem at all

as long as the engine is well taken care of by the owner i don't think the maintenance will be ex

you can read through a lot of pages from this thread and will find out alot of tips and ways to maintain your bike in good condition and also a lot of good reviews from past and present riders of pulsar

if you are asking if pulsar is a good buy

i can tell you yes it is:thumb::thumb::thumb:

have not regretted once i got this bike:thumb::thumb::thumb:

nice transport for everyday travelling:thumb::thumb::thumb:
