Wah I finally made it to the UM service centre today after getting lost for 2 hours. For some reason I ended up in Serangoon... lol.

 

Found alot of problems with the bike. They had to close shop at 7pm and asked me to come back another day to fix the rest of the problems...

 

So today I changed:

• Engine oil
  
• Air filter
  
• Rear brake shoe
  
• Side cover lock
  
• Missing bolt and nut for rear brake lever
  
• Right handlebar switch panel set
  

 

Total damage $141.50.

 

Still left with these problems:

• Front brake lever does not disengage properly (like no spring to push the lever forward all the way)
  
• Tachometer still showing negative RPM
  
• Speedometer still goes crazy sometimes (but seems like improved during my ride back)
  

 

Think I'll go down tomorrow to finish the servicing off...

 

By the way they quoted me $170+ to fit a new IU. Is it cheaper to do it at VICOM? I thought it should be 150 only.

 

I'm hoping I don't have to change the entire digital speedo. It's gonna cost $210.

 

I think I saw mjbs64's red pulsar there too! I remember seeing the autobot logo.

when you go down 2ml do ask them if your speedo can be repaired or they have 2nd hand ones(cheaper)

about 75km.hr at 6k rpm. what abt yours?? plug haven change. got 2 from MJ today, the NGK platinum

ya.. just ride back, can feel the smoothness of the bike at expressway already. really feel better than stock. will monitor for next

few days to test it durability.

Btw how do I get into UM without paying for parking? I tailed a car in earlier today and nearly got smashed by the barrier coming down. lol.

there now is erp parking

can squeeze in the side?

if not use cash card put into the machine

then b4 you enter UM that stretch the gantry is the exit

so just put cash card in again

should have 10 mins grace

so shld be free

you can do it illegally by turning right into opposite direction traffic at jln bukit merah before the filter lane near queensway shopping center.Its along the cofeeshop which is near UM,that road.But be very verty careful.

anyway happens you go UM tomorrow, when jimmy or chris approach you to take down your name and phone, tell them die die you want Ah Teck or Ah Long do for your bike .. but happens both of them are very busy, either you wait or let Jackie or Ah Wai do your bike.

It is easy to know them by looking at the work place.

Ah Long is on the front left working, normally working the bike on the hydrulic platform.

Similar with Jackie on the inside left where the hydrulic platform too.

Ah Wai is very tall slightly slim build working on the inside right .

And Ah Teck is the shortest guy and working on the front right near the entrance.. happens if you saw my bike earliear .

 

Besides these 4 regulars UM mech, the rest are additional mechs from UM's big shot brother Micheal shop happens if the place are very busy or they are off for their lunch or coffee break

Trust me ... when ever you go UM, be a little bit patience when you are there, your patience will have your bike in good hands from the 4 regular mechs.

 

haha .. I don't get any commission here but after 2 years plus at UM and have experienced with most mechs there ... the 4 mentioned I have no regrets letting their hands on my bike.

And since I do always brought aftermarkets accessories for my bike there, I found that Ah Teck is the most handy person no doubt the rest are good too.

 

Just my share with you but still it's up to personal preference ... but what ever just make sure these 4 mechs do your bike!!!

Speed > ... you need to remove the whole front cowling first and then unscrew and remove the black face cowl to install the after market eye and face cowl .. price hmmmmmm will let you know soon. Oh I did not install the add on cheek cowl yet .. although I have them in my box .. need to see how the face cowl looks first on my SplitFire. The cheek cowl will have the overall Pulsar head looks more fierce and just to let Glzco knows that the cheek cowl is SILVER. .. hehehhehe
