Wah scary. Hard side boxes would have knocked your bike on the ground between 2 vehicles.

I don't like to squeeze so I tend to get in lane when I see a big vehicle stopped in front. Unless there's a bad jam or long queue at the red light. Then I try to let another bike lead the way. Chances are they are more experienced than me and it is also easier to judge the size of the gap by looking at another bike in front.

anw bro we cant tell you much also, all depend on ur personal judgement. if cant squeeze juz wait lor no harm :) that wat I alway do.

thats the point...

make ppl mistake you...

don't know about that

put decepticon's ones lah...

hahaa deception logo thinking of that too.

i started using the tora tora.. haha...will review on fuel save and effects soon... right now cant tell much YET.

what tora tora by the way ? another type of fuel saving product ?

What's your budget Gennosuke ?

Check out Regina and Motoworld. The latter has Komine gloves, mesh and leather with hard shell protector for the knuckles at less than $90.

I recommend you actually do the bike shops tour: Regina, Motoworld, Chiap Lee, etc.. All these have globes and it's the item that goes on sale first, and sometimes they want to get rid of "old" models from last year or two years back, that are really nice.

My advice to you: don't save too much on gloves. Guaranteed this will be the very first piece of gear that will hit the ground if you fall. So you want hard armor protector for your knuckles, good padding on the palm especially lower bottom part (and this will also help you reduce the vibration effect from the bike), ideally you want them to close beyond the wrist line, so your wrist skin and bone and protected too.

Something like this:

http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii109/jaggeddawg/GK-711ProtectMeshGloves.jpg

And you want gloves with reinforced layers at your finger tips, again because when your hand is going to touch the ground you will have the reflex to grab with your fingers so need good padding there.

This is to illustrate where the glove will get the most torn :

Have a look at the classified and MO section on SBF too !

what are you planning to put in the box?

for zeus if your helmet shell is on the big side then cannot fit 2 FF

recommend to get givi 45L which is reasonably priced

can fit 2 FF no problem

if you have more cash to spare can get coocase

O'ren aka SBT safety ambassador sure to comment on your riding wear...

for zeus box i tried putting my 14" acer laptop in and the space left is enough maybe to put a bag inside

cause the height of the box is lower...

well you can try squeezing the items

but last time when i using the zeus 45L i don't

cause got 4 screws protruding out inside the box for the back rest and the plastic cover is easy to come off

hence scratching my gf's helmet

without the laptop should not be a problem fitting jacket, shoe and bag

2 half face can fit...

Alfazizou...:box::box: !!!!

Ok I'm predictable, but still. Seriously.. do you hate yourself so much you just don't care ? :slapforehead:

I'm sure you care about yourself and more importantly you care about not saddening your relatives, friends, family. Everything can happen, to all riders regardless of their skills and experience. But think about it: what good is convenient clothing if your parents and loved one get to visit you at the hospital and smile and laugh with you to make you feel better when really all they can think about is that they almost lost you and that the injuries you have really look bad.

Have a look:

http://steigerlaw.typepad.com/photos/motorcycle_leg_degloving_/motorcycle-leg-injury-16.jpg

http://garyrosenberg-law.com/images/motorcycle1.jpg

http://i31.tinypic.com/24qlds7.jpg

Why do we need protection? To avoid :

http://www.modernbuddy.com/pix/motorcycle-injuries.jpg

What protects us will take the hit for us, imagine without it how it would be !

http://dontai.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/mesh-shonuff-pants2.jpg

http://dontai.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/mesh-jacket2.jpg

http://dontai.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/mesh-glovesb.jpg

You know, when I started thinking I wanted a motorbike, I imagined myself with a very cool bike (A black Ducati Monster like Trinity :lovestruck:) wearing a tank top, super cool jeans and sunglasses ! :p:cool::p

Really, maybe people would not believe it but I always said no way I'm going to wear something uncool, I don't want to be a robocop, I don't want to look like a nerd and plus, I'm not from around here: this heat KILLS me, if I ride with anything else than a tank top I'm gonna feel like I'm in a sauna all the time !

And then... I started reading about motorcycle injuries. Other rider's testimonials. How super experienced rider get into trouble without even doing anything wrong. Because of an oil patch on the road, or sand, or someone not paying attention, or even the bike itself that breaks down or something.

People think only riders who act like racers on the road and are not riding properly get into accident. That's not true. Any rider, from the slow riding uncle to the super safety oriented rider, everyone is at risk.

So why would you ride naked? Because that's what it is, slippers and shorts etc.. that's riding naked. When you slide your palm on the asphalt, it hurts yeah? You could even scratch yourself, yeah? Well imagine doing that at just 40km/h. At 100km/h. How long do you think your skin on your feet, your legs and your hands will resist until the asphalt burns through and gets to the bone? That's right, about half a second.

http://motorcyclesafetynews.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/image0123-300x223.jpg

I understand you don't want to spoil your white sneakers or shoes. I do. I understand how nice it is to ride in normal clothes, really, I do. But it's so easy to get used to wearing protective gear, try it ! At first, you think you'll never going to make it. Too heavy, too hot, too bulky, where to put all this when I park the bike, so troublesome to carry... But every rider who wears protective gear will tell you: it's no big deal.

Protected riders go to work, they go for drinks, to the movies, they go clubbing and they go on dates just like any naked rider  And they don't look dorky or carry their stuff all the time: there are many ways of having your gear with you at all times without it being a hassle.

I don't even feel my gear anymore. It's part of me just like a purse or a bag, I just grab it when I leave the house and that's it.

I hope this will make you research more about motorcycle accidents and read what other riders say. You can start very small: just a pair of protective gloves. At first they'll feel weird but soon you will not want to ride without them I promise !

If you don't want to get riding boots that's fine. But at least get closed shoes. Not Crocs - proper closing shoes. Preferably leather, because fabric will tear easily. You can buy a random pair of sneakers or shoes and make them your riding shoes, and carry your slippers in a bag ! When you park, switch between them ! :thumb:

Finally, let's clear some myths about protective gear:

- it's not just for riders who can afford it

- it's not expensive to gear up, any rider who pays for his/her bike can pay for it

- yes, protective gear CAN save your life

- yes, protective gear will allow to walk away from an accident and ride again !

- protective gear doesn't keep you hot or uncomfortable. It keeps you alive & pretty/handsome

- no, it's not cool to ride "naked" !
