Have anyone of us here change their exhaust pipe before? esp for shadow riders.

I wonder if it makes a great difference to the sound and performance of your bike.

I'm looking for a louder and more deeper bass pipe, for shadow. hopefully something LTA approved type.

Please help to comment (eg, pros and cons, price wise, where to get etc.. ... )

thank you.

I know if take out the muffler is one option, but if caught fine $500 and must buy and fixed back a new original pipe. That's y I'm looking for a legal after-market pipe with loud and deep bass type.

Please help if anyone know something ok? thank you.

hi vodavoda....like what Hideki45 have posted..that's more like it as an answers to ur posting....it is not that we don't want to help...there's no way we can help (limited)...there isn't any after market exaust pipes or slips on that is street legal (LTA approved) yet till date.....most metric cruiser riders is satisfied with what that sounds from their exaust....the more adventurers ones would 'tong' their pipes to make it sounds 'better'......or u can buy an imperial cruiser if u want ur ride to b

somewhat 'street presence' or....ha..ha..ha.. u can choose to break the law by importing & fixing an illegal one urself......the penalty is only $500.00.. that is.....only if u get caught.....c'mon look at the bright side....what if u don't get caught?......u stand a chance to keep ur $500.00 don't u think?....anyways very soon the 'garment' is distributing enough dough to offset...whatever they r going to take........does that sounds like a break even?.. or well if u r on a budget...this is what u can do...it does not save u much though ...why not just 'tong' ur pipe

the penalty is only $70.00...........

..........decided 2 do?.....then do it!.......2 do nothing is 2 get nothing..........

also means that harley's screaming eagle, python3 and thunderheader exhaust pipes consider illegal? btw, how do they know whether the exhaust is legal besides checking it's stock or not?

ROV have a booklet on all models in Singapore. If they can't verify on spot, they will request you to follow them to the nearest inspection centre to inspect.

Even 49 states pipes are illegal

All as well, ends well.

When I was on holiday in HK, I saw a heavily modded Shadow that had pipes that sounded like a fish-blowing-bubbles, kindof like "mong-mong-mong-mong".

not the usual cruiser bassy sound. its really difficult to describe, but definitely left a huge impression on me... :thumb:

hmmm... wouldn't it be cool if we can sort of have like a system or lever where we can open and close the "tong" exhaust.....

would "tonging" improve performance????

hi liquidthots......certainly there are such a systems... whereby u can fine tune ur pipes using somekind of built in fixtures as the case of so many after market pipes..ha..ha.. i've not seen one with a lever yet or may be not at all..i guess there isn't a need to... altering/'tonging' the pipe requires know how & most 'pros' did it with the help of Dynos so they know exactly at which part of the powerband that 'sweetspot' they are after.......loud pipes does not neccesarily translate to more HP gain.....

..........decided 2 do?.....then do it!.......2 do nothing is 2 get nothing..........

fyi, the BB inspection center has a picture of a SE2 muffler on the wall. Take it anyway you like, but to me, that means if they see it, they'll fail you.

There's a law against tempered exhaust and illegal exhaust, each carrying a different fine. There is also a lot of grey area as to which law you broke if you mod your pipes. Anything looking like stock might get you the lower fine since it'll be more like tempering. SE1, python, 49 state, and KromeWorks are the few slip-ons that look stock.

welll.... now there are a few mufflers that are being legalised......at least for sportbike and scooter.....so is the procedure the same for cruiser as welll..... ??? if they are why no one did it.???

the only reason i can think of is s'pore cruiser community not that big thus in terms of probably....fewer chances of adventures people going to try to get it approved / legalised......

mebbe since election is round the corner, we can write petion to garmen to at least loosen the law on this.....or make it more flexible.......

just dun koe how to go abt doing it.....

wondering why did the cars owners manage to get their mufflers approved????

2cents worth.....

There is a system as such of using mode button and liver to off and on the rumbling sound of the pipes. This pipes are for sale from US and u can get it online. If it does not fit well u can modify the joining part to the block by welding and moulding it by going to First Motor at Ubi....
