Due to large turnout, we are limiting the class size to a maximum of 20. As Endlessloop will not be able to answer every single topic raised due to class size, participants are encouraged to come with the top 3 most important questions they would like to ask. We hope that this will facilitate a more inclusive and rounded discussion session.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

BUFFERING: Give yourself space. People driving cars often just don’t see motorcycles. Even when drivers do see you, chances are they’ve never been on a motorcycle and can’t properly judge your speed.

Ha ha ha, S-Line. No need to pre-orientate 'cas I haven't figure out the route yet.

All bikes please fuel-up for at least 50km of ride. Please bring rain gear in case of rain.

Do come with some "burning questions" to ask 'cas given the amount of time, we can only cover a fraction of total safety knowledge. So do ask something that you really want to know.

On the 8th Nov morning all participants arrived at the Ulu pandan CC. The morning lecture was conducted by Endlessloop with Shirley as Lady Friday who set up the computer and projector.

They are assisted by many bikers from Moto-V. Thank you all for your time.

After a brief introduction by all the participants. The leader asked what we want to know during this short briefing. Everyone contributed at least a question/reason that they want to gain by attending this lecture.

From what I had learnt are to:

1. Anticipate Hazards on the road, ahead, from the sides and from behind.

2. Give yourself some time, ahead of the meeting time so you would not have to rush. When you are late and you rush to your destination you will tend to neglect you surrounding. You will not be as observant as when you are more relax and not rushing for time.

3. Scanned your surrounding for danger, look at behavior of drivers through car window and the movement of the cars around you. Do not day dream.

4. Learnt what is you coocon of space. How to creat your coocon of space. What to do when someone intrude into you coocon of space. Of all the lesson learnt, this is the most important (to me).

5. There are many other which is just like a good old revision.

After the lecture part is the practical lesson. Class is divided into 3 groups due to the large class size. The leader for the first two group is lead by Endlessloop, while the 3 group is by Pplater.

The sweepers are Victor Tan and Ausa.

During this part the leader talk to the rest of the convey by walkietalkie all the things that a biker should observe while riding. Pointers were giving even on seemly minor thing which I took for granted.

After everyone of the convey members have taken turn as 2nd rider we then return to the lecture room while the 2nd group take their turn in the practical ride.

After we return to the lecture room a short video presentation was given, this time by Pplater. Video of traffic accidents. One of them that caught my eye is the guy who look at other accident did not look infront. Bang into the back of the bus.

The whole thing finished at about 2pm.

What was missing?

I think is the introducing of safety gear to those who still do not use them.

Thank the team for giving their time to make this lecture interesting reminding us the safety aspect of using our busy Singapore road. If anyone who by attending this lecture and miss been a accident target, then the team had done their lesson.

During this 5 hours, what has I learnt. Many, aspecially on safety.

Met new friends and familiar faces, we shared experience and chat.

I strongly recommend to Probationary rider.. This workshop makes you better aware of the potential hazards (so that you can react early) from before the start of your journey, to your destination.

As for the more experience rider, an eye opener/revision.

My thanks to all that is involved.

Truly a worthwhile experience. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I really found the HOV session very helpful! Thanks to endlessloop, pplater and those who helped out in other ways too!

What was really helpful for me in this session was the part when Endlessloop shared about the art of lane changing on expressways - looking for pockets of space and leaving a safety cocoon for myself. In the past, I felt that I was constantly tailgated on the expressways. But after I adopted Endlessloop's method, I find myself relaxing and enjoying my ride even more!

I hope that HOV can be conducted on a larger scale so that more riders will be able to benefit from it!! :thumb: :thumb:

Biking is something that everyone can learn and enjoy! :goodluck:

Quite a number of riders who attended the HOV session think that the session will benefit more riders and that more riders should attend. I think this is what S4^Dreamer ( can I call myself 4D^Dreamer? :p ) meant by a larger scale.

Thanks for your honest feedback! Looking at how to improve for future sessions.

At the same time, Ano, I also agree with you that the convoy cannot be large because the participants benefit more in a smaller convoy. So it seems that we do need more HOV safety instructors.
