what is the average amount for such offence?i been told i be sack if the amount is a few k.

fine is from 8k to 10k for this offence, depending on judge and how you plead.

 

it is much cheaper if you dun put any coupon and got caught. dun play play...

 

good luck. prepare the money, once sentence melted out with the fine, have to pay on the spot, so bring your cheque book, else prepare to be in remand until someone comes pay for you.

yes i understand but i 1st time offence .they stated i 1st time offence will be heavy fine .they never mention i be jail or wad.learnt my lesson for not following the rules.

There wont be jail for 1st offender, not that i see b4.

 

But heavy fine there will be. as mentioned, bring a cheque book.

just admit in court you plead guilty, then plead for leniency.

 

Hopefully, depending on judge also, fine will be lowered abit.

 

Car owner will be summoned by LTA for investigation as well, but since he is not with you in car that point of time, he will most likely be let off with just a warning from LTA.

 

As mentioned, bring your cheque book, make sure you prepare 10k. Else... if can't pay fine amount, then it's jail time for you.

 

How many days in jail to "repay" for the fine amount you can't pay for, depends on how much the judge sets.

 

Pay the fine, there won't be jail time.

My guess is so long as you can pay in full whatever summon melted out to you, your ricebowl should be safe even though you're a p.s or c.s...

nope, will just read out your name, offence (time, place etc). ask you plead guilty or not, and if you wanna plead for leniency. Usually, many just say plead guilty, judge then issues "statement" blah blah, the most important is you listen how much is the fine, go to "payment room", once pay it off, you're free to go.

 

you can plead for leniency though, it might help, it might not. if you're not the 1st few, best, as you can check out how the judge work. if he gives minimum fine for those infront, then good for you.

 

the prosecutor acts for lta, and will obviously ask for the maximum fine to be imposed on you.

 

i dunno if it's gonna be the same if you're a p.s or c.s. though, but i've neber heard of prosecutor saying out the occupation of the accused. just the above. so good luck on your case. i doubt it'll affect your career.

I had attended court but for another traffic offense, thought it was so serious that the courtroom was actually "packed with serious offenders". They will usually say out your offense and where you commited it and all that rubbish and wants you to plead guilty, then judge will bang and you can go or if you have any lawyers mitigation/or appeals from your MP, they will usually bring your case to a later date.

found out mi fine is up to 15k.i hope it wun be so high as i was told i will be sack if the amount is too high.i am able to pay off the fine .

so far, i have heard of cases whereby failure to display coupon kena fined $10K. think your case is slightly different in that there is a hint of element of cheating.
