Hey, seanwu .. what is the colour of you ride? I understand that the grey / black version is the rarest in Singapore/ So far green seems common, I've seen red too. But never Black or yellow R1100R.

Anyone travel with panniers? I am apprehensive about squeezing thru traffic with them. Ccontemplated getting City lids.

Cheers

... what you looking at? Never seen a cow that wants to go places ????! ...

mine is the stock blue color, I feel like changing a new matt balck color but respray will be the last of my shopping list...

regarding the panniers issue. I am having 3 boxes fixed and I think sometime its the road's width that is the issue, because I can squeeze at some roads but some can't. But as long as there is moving traffic, I guess it not a big problem, the most wait for a while.

Hence City Lids ... these are covers for the BMW that shave about 8 inches off each side. But again, .. not cheap.

Good things are not cheap, so I guess we need to live with it.

So Coolcat, where do you usually service your bike?

Screen seems good. But I reckon that the screen may get pitted after a while? How much is that? The splash guards seems unnecessary, cos' if you are waring waterproof boots for touring, then it doesn't matter.

But if you are not, use the money for the guards for the boots!

hey, seanwu .. how much are the splash guards?

Anyone know where can I get someone to touch up some paint on my bike? Would hate to spray the whole fuel tank for a small hairline scratch, but I can't see how the hairline can be sprayed by itself. Also a spot of rust on my frame where the previous owner mounted a clip without using rubber coating first.

Will try to post some pics.

Cheers

Hi Bro,

For the splash guard, it can be order from oversea or locally make one as it looks quite simple. whereas for the paint job, I really don't know where can make a good job, coz all is the same to me just a matter of money...

No; can't say that I've even seen a Blue R1100R ever in the flesh! I've seen a yellow R1150R at Capital Towers, a Green R1100R in the east. The most popular BMW bike seems to be the GS models.

BTW, asked Ah Boy about tyres that day, BT-014 or 20s, he quoted something like $250 or less ... very good price or I caughthim in a darn good mood!

I guess I only manage to see one blue stock colour same as my bike colour and whereas for the rest I have not chance to see coz I don't go for shopping and so seldom park in shopping center.

I guess it a good buy. I think HKL also sells cheap tyres but just buy from them is enough, you wouldn't want them to balance your tyre, you will regret it.
