Hi guys, I just got a new bike & I understand no LTA inspection required for 1st 3 years?

If I do some aesthetic mods like number plates that doesn't conform to requirements, change of headlight/signal lights, mirrors, exhaust system (not loud), aftermarket pedals etc, Is there a high risk of being stopped on the road by LTA/TV/ROV? Has anyone been stopped on the road for such offences?

Or is the 1st 3 years basically a honeymoon period? Of course no one can sya for certain thry wont be stopped, but just asking for the chances/probability of getting caught.

Thanks bro.. very helpful. But very sianz after I read "However, it is necessary to note that this list is not exhaustive"

last time I kena before on handle bar.. pass for 2 years then the same handlebar failed on the 3rd year.

I guess, I will be abit more adventurous on the mods for new bikes since chances of being stopped on the road is not so high. But my fren advised me not to get non approved pipes as TP has been quite on the ball for this.

Btw, surprised tinted headlights not allowed. I see many cars with the blackened covers for all the lights... very swee.

Yeah, not just non approved end cans, some even check your headers to see if you removed the catalytic converter.

Tbh i don't understand why would any motorcyclist want to tint their headlights. Why would you not want to be seen by cars on the road?

mostly I see cars doing that.... still can see the light when on. The darken effect only obvious when lights r off.

I will say, if u want to mod, then do legal mods.

or else u will have to be prepared to be stopped anytime anywhere.

no peace.

and pls don't do the headlight mod with HID or some glaring lights. its dangerous to other drivers/riders when they cant look in their mirrors.

I once called up LTA to confirm this - exhaust end can wrapping is illegal due to welding. So I asked them what to do if my end can got scratch or damaged? They tell me to change the entire end can. :slapforehead:

They can be pretty strict if they want to.
