oh ya, i got your number already.

we prefer wet in tm, not so hot and more muddy water pool. haha...

dry if good for sand riding, loose and fish tail everywhere...

i didnt say no muddy... hehe... its 80% Dakar Rally n 20% muddy. If it rains..., 50% muddy, 30% pools n 20% flat.

wa bro..pray for rain meh..then TM will be flooded....

I dun mind riding mud etc...but avoiding deep water patches now thou I used to enjoy them before(some could get real deep, cover the whole wheel)....enuff to flood the bike or reach the airbox....kanna last time in Lor Halus and TM....stalled/choked the bike in the water/mud pool and couldn't start it....left it sleeping down to drain the water out, start liao couldn't rev up...bogging all the way....a expensive and painful lesson...same goes for some of my riding kakis, heard some bad things abt water getting into engine, damaging valves seat etc...or damaging for wheel bearings, seals, linkages etc....anyway, tis are jus info I've gathered and personal experience to share....so I pray for little or no rain instead..sorry for being a spoil sport.

hi, sops,

welcome. no need to change air filter if nothing wrong with it.

the ride won't be short, will be riding from 830am ~ 1200pm. however, you can leave half way after we finish the first route if you are really tired.

fullface with goggle, glove, elbow & knee guard, army boots, long sleeve shirt and long pants are minimum for firstimer.

since you are p-plate, please come with atleast a pair of semi off road tyre. many stuck at sand pit and muddy area with road tyre.

your bike is very new with FBC plate, please be mentally prepared to fall many times for your first time.

you might broke your lever, scratch the tank and broke some plastic.

trail is very fun, you can't find such pleasure riding on the road.

get your gear & bike ready, let's ride together! :thumb:

i'll pm you my contact.

Hi Sev, gasp! I'm mentally prepared to get scratches and broken plastics but dun wish for anything more serious, esp engine n carb side. Speaking about levers, is it advisable to install those lever guards thingy (what's the actual name)? Wanted to install it anyway.

Gear wise, I'm using flip up fullface. Okay right? Glove wise, can I just buy a normal cheapo glove from beach road? Dun wish to spend so much for now.

Bike wise, I'm riding a DR2 with stock trail wheels. Tried some tomfoolery on the way back from work yesterday (seletar dam to jalan kayu) on some dirt "roads" and can feel the back wheel fishtailing on loose, rocky parts and sand. The feeling is shiok oredi, so can't imagine actual trail.

By the way, please teach me on the process on what to do after trails. I think there's a need to wash a lot of parts but do I have to strip some parts of the bike? Any other things need to bring, esp spare parts (spark plugs, tools, etc..)? 8.30-1200 is okay for me. But pardon me if i blur-blur or get stuck on certain parts ah.. :p

hi! try pj1 foam filter cleaner. it will work juz as good as the maxima. i wash mine on a weekly basis but i have a work area 2 do it n its a bit different. 4 guys in hdb,the pj1 way is the best cos u juz rinse it under running water n its bio degradable 2. avoid petrol or solvents as they will break down the glue dat holds the filter in place.

hope it helps u out,nijalite!

hi sops,

you can buy FOX glove from motorworld, promotion price only $15. cheap and good. it is your finger, don't save on protection.

yes, the metal hand guard is good, at least you wont break your lever when falls.

This kind of tyre is ok:

http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.co.uk/a/img/products/trailmaxD603.jpg

this kind is not:

http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.co.uk/a/img/products/trailmaxD604.jpg

after trail must go petrol station wash bike, unless you have high pressure water jet at home, then you can DIY.

mud at bearing area and linkage must be clean that's all.
