Check with you guys... need advise.

If we send our bikes to workshop, the mechanic need to test ride our bikes to see what are the problems but what if the mechanic get into accident while testing our bikes?

Can we still claim insurance?

Ask the workshop to compensate?

My neighbour send his bike (honda cbr400) to a shop near his work place at bukit batok. The mechanic hit onto a car while test riding, but he blame my neighbour's brakes are faulty. The shop owner say he will compensate the car driver's damages but my neighbour have to repair his bike out of his own pocket which I find ridicious.

After arguing with the shop owner, the boss agreed to compensate my neighbour's bike damages but only replace with used parts because he said "your bike not brand new"

Any advise or suggestion that my neighbour should do. Do not wish to mention the shop name because my neighbour might want to sue the shop.

live is short , play hard ...... :gun: :help:

which shop? Ask your neighbour go report police if the workshop do not want to compensate him. He crashed the bike and yet dare to say replace with used parts? Tell the boss to talk with sense and logic, what if we go to his shop test his bikes before buying n drop the bike. Can we tell him the same thing??? Aiya tell him be a gentleman settle the repair nicely if not you have to ask your neighbour to take legal actions against them.

i believe you can claim from the bike shop as all the mechs are holding to a insurance meant for mechs which allow them to ride any bikes for testing purposes unless the mechs themselves dun have a valid riding license(who knows rite?)

my opinion, the shop should bear the fee for both car & bike cause the rider at that time is the mechanic..not careful, den bear the consequences loh...used parts i think not a major issue , its the shop must return back to the bike physical state before the accident..
